So, I'm looking to make some extra cash to put away for Disney. I have 3 boys who have a ton of clothing. Is it worth putting it on ebay, or would a yard sale work better? Right now I have about 15 containers worth of clothing from just the past 1-2 years of cleaning out their closets.

What advice can you give to someone who has never listed anything on ebay?

It really depends on the type and condition and brand of clothing. Do a little research on eBay and see what has been selling. good brands like polo, Gymboree, Gap, Tommy, Boden, Land End etc usually do well enough to make it worth the time you put in to it. It helps to know the year and line it comes from.
It needs to be in new/ like new condition and sizes that will sell. I sell girls clothing and do quite well in sizes 4-5, anything under size 3 doesn't sell well for me.
Off brands that are specialty items like dance clothes, cleats, boots or Holiday dresses I take to consignment.

anything else, Children's place, Target I donate or give to friends. They just don't sell well.
Good luck!

You could sell items in lots: 3 shirts; 3 pairs jeans; etc. People like to know they will save on shipping so offer to combine shipping charges. And, def. take a look at what is already out there for sale. Don't sell summer clothes going into fall and winter. Also, keep in mind that you will have some small fees so plan for that if it makes a difference.
