Help with Easter eggs - the colors run

I know I just did a poll on this, but help me out.....

My Easter eggs color run - why is this?
I will put them out on Easter and after they've sat out for awhile the colors run when the egg sweats.
It's so annoying!!
This never happened when I was a kid
My mom would hide the colored eggs - never plastic eggs
I could never do that out of fear the color would stain carpet, furniture and etc.

If you have an answer or suggestion - please post

Do you put vinegar in the water when you dye them?

I was about to say the same thing. You need to use warm water with a teaspoon or so of vinegar to set the dye. After you've dyed the eggs, set them on a wire cooling rack to dry. When they are completely cool and dry you may put them in the fridge, but not before.

I use vinegar, but not warm water.
