Please excuse any duplication in my question.

After banking we have 370 points to use beginning in March and were thinking of using them to pay for part of a Disney cruise for our family of 5. When using points via member services, I know you can combine points with cash...but do they give you any kind of a break on the cash price..or do they just quote you the brochure price. I would hate to have to pay brochure price for the privilege of using my points.

We were thinking of using 330 points for the 2 adults and paying cash for 2 of the kids. The other kid would stay with the grandparents in their own cabin and we would just pay them the cash.

Another question would be should be use Member Services to book the grandparents room (one of our family members would be staying there), or use a travel agent for that one...I think Dreams Unlimited is often mentioned on these boards as one often used.

No matter how you cut it, this will be an expensive vacation!

BTW...we did the 7 day Eastern Carribean 2 years ago and had a grand time.

Thanks for any suggestions.

DVC and DCL have pre-arranged prices. You probably won't pay list, but won't get too special of a deal. As for the other party, I would book that seperately and just have them link the reservation numbers together in the computer.

They have a list of prices according to cabin category. We have 3 kids but no grandparents going, so we are probably going to use points for 1 adult and 1 kid, cash for 2 kids. Of course then we won't have any points for a room! Oh well, I have an AP too.
