Help with DVC AP

I want to buy an AP pass w/DVC discount, but I thought about buying a 7 day PH ticket from UT. I need some help, so

For 2 adults and 2 kids a DVC discount AP would cost about $1612, however I can buy 7 day hopper from UT for about $1070. Full price from Disney about $1233. I need to use the tickets one day then take them to the gate and upgrade to an AP.

They would apply the full gate price and I would only need about $379 to get the AP? I'm new to this and I wanted to make sure I had this correct.

Once you use the ticket from UT once, you will pay the difference between the gate price of the ticket in your hand and the price of the DVC AP.

I don't know if your overall figures are right because you have 4 tickets/APs all lumped together, but provided your math is right, that is correct.

Don't forget to bring you DVC membership card with you. They require it to buy the DVC discounted ticket.
