Looking for some ideas to spread out the cost of our trip.

Right now, I have 6 nights in June at CSR with 7 day tickets and regular dining.

I was thinking of doing this:

  • taking off dining, and adding back 4 days before trip
  • reducing # of days for tickets, adding back when we we get there

Is this a good idea? Anyone see any problems with this? Or any better ideas?

Also, will I be able to make FP+ reservations if I take the ticket days off? (my guess is no...)

If you link your tickets to MDE when you decide, you will still be able to make FP+ reservations for however many days you use. I personally would keep the days at the parks if you have quality time to spend on all those days. I would ditch the dining plan, as it would save you potentially a lot of $. I priced our time at parks and resorts with meals, drinks, and snacks with the menus and prices on allears.net. It came to roughly $350, compared to $480 with the basic dining plan, so that's what I purchased in Disney gift cards (not including snacks we bought from garden grocer) and we came home with $50 left in gift cards. Ended up sharing a couple meals with DD when we weren't that hungry and didn't have all the desserts/snacks at the parks I had budgeted for.

I would get rid of dining. It looks like your DS will be an adult under the dining plan and if he will eat off the kids menu he will be cheaper!
