We have only taken one trip to DLR about 2 years ago, and now we just booked for May. The only restaurant we loved on our last trip was the Blue Bayou which is a must do on this trip too. We are staying at DLH so we figure we'll do Goofy's Kitchen with DD5 and DD1 since it's in our hotel.

What other choices can you recommend? They can be table service or counter, but we won't be going anywhere fancy because of DD1. ;)

Last time a lot of the counter service places were closed too b/c we were there in Sept. and it was off season, so I'm hoping that doesn't happen again. We would walk a long ways to find a place that sounded good on the map to find it was closed...

TIA!

We like Pizza Port for the pasta and salads. The pizza is ok, but not great. The kids meals are good. I like the ravioli with white sauce, and often order it for myself then share some salad with dh.

Carnation cafe on main street is great for breakfast!

Riverbell terrace for bbq or breakfast is pretty good.

Clam chowder in a bread bowl from the Royal street veranda is yummy!

Breakfast with Minnie at the Plaza is a great character meal. Fried chicken for lunch or dinner at the plaza is also very good.

We dont tend to eat at DCA very often. Not sure why. I did have corn chowder in a bread bowl in the warf area that was good. Dh had a salad in a bread bowl that look very good.

White water snacks in the GCH has pretty good food.

I've heard really good things about Steakhouse 55 (was Granvilles). They have breakfast and dinner- not sure about lunch. Its an often overlooked place for breakfast, so you can sometimes get in and out quickly. Its located in the DLH, next door to Goofys.

Definitely do breakfast (and dinner... heck, maybe lunch too!) at the River Belle Terrace. My little boy has to have the Mickey Mouse pancake.

White Water Snacks is one of our absolute favorites. We usually eat at least two or three meals there every trip - it's a great choice to run over to from DCA for lunch, or grab breakfast before hitting the parks.

Storyteller's Cafe is another favorite for us. The breakfast buffet is to die for... do not miss the French Toast, it is so delicious! I haven't had lunch there in a couple of years, usually go for meals in the parks for lunch. Dinner is wonderful too. I haven't done the dinner buffet, but I've heard great things about it. I usually order salmon or pizza for dinner. The kids get to put their own pizza together before it goes into the oven, my son loves making hidden Mickey's with pepperoni! The adult's personal pizza is about what you would expect if you ordered a medium pizza elsewhere, it will certainly feed two or three people - especially if you start with a salad.

I haven't been to Blue Bayou since the change. It used to be a tradition for us to have lunch there every trip. I just don't feel the same now. I am willing to try it, but it's just not a necessity to me now... sad.

We had the new breakfast at Cafe Orleans on our last trip (they had just started serving breakfast a week or two before). It was nice to have a sitdown breakfast for almost the same price as counter service and have someone bring it to you and refill your coffee several times! The food isn't any better than the stuff you get at counter service restaurants though, so don't go with high expectations.

I'll agree that the breakfasts at the Riverbelle Terrace and Storyteller's Cafe are fabulous!! We love the Hungry Bear Restaurant. The sandwiches are so good and big enough for 2 to share. We enjoy getting a table toward the back where we can sit and watch the river boat and canoes go by. It's really very peaceful.

The snack bar at the DLH pool had some of the best chicken tenders! They too, were plenty to share.

We like the Mexican at DL, Rancho del Zocalo, I think. Food was pretty good & decent size portions for CS. Plaza Inn's chicken is good, but I'm still bummed that they stopped serving their pot pie-like stew over biscuits a couple years ago...wish they'd bring that back. We would make a dinner trip especially for that.

Over at Pacific Wharf in DCA, the Boudin Sourdough is available at the Pacific Wharf Cafe for soups & salads. That's one of our favorites...sandwiches are fair in size, but good. The salads are served with a whole sourdough loaf, great for snacking the rest of the day & the soups are served in the bowl. Now if we could get them to give out mini-bread loaves like they gave out tortillas at the Mission Tortilla Factory. Cocina Cucamonga is across from the Cafe & their nachos are good, made with Mission Tortilla chips.

I haven't been, but Tastepilot's Grill (CA) always gets consistently good reviews. I think it is best for burgers.

We haven't been thrilled by most DL food (unlike WDW where we like a lot of places). However, we did like Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD on our last trip and it still gets good reviews.

We ate there on our last trip and the burgers were fine. The problem was that we hit it right at lunch time and it was crowded!! I would definitely try to hit it during an off time.

I totally agree with you there! We were at the DLH for over a week during DD dance competition/workshops and never found much that wowed us.

My favorites are Blue Bayou...White Water Snack at GCH...Goofy's Kitchen (DLH) and Plaza Inn for character breakfasts at Goofy's definately need ADRs...Bengals BBQ in Adventureland...Carnation Cafe...Rancho del Zocalo...dole whips at Tiki Room...churros

Just got back from DL. Here is where we ate. Lunch at Pacific Wharf was OK. Had the bread bowl soups and sandwiches. Soups were good and filling, and sandwiches were just OK, although my daughter loved the turkey one. That night we ate at Wine Country Trattoria which was just OK in my opinion. It seems like no matter where you go, the selection is so limited. For breakfast we ate 2 times at Whitewater Snacks. The bisquit sandwich is huge and good. It can feed 2 people almost. That was our favorite. We also had breakfast at Tommorow Land Terrace, and for the money you got alot too. We had the crossiant egg, bacon and cheese sandwiches, potatoes, 2 big wedges of oranges and a choice of drink. Enough also to split. For lunch at DL we ate at the French Market. I personally believe that was the best place to eat for your money. We had great French Dip sandwiches and my DH ordered the Pulled Pork which he said was great. They all came with french fries and a nice big side salad. That night we ate at Cafe Orleans. Limited menu again! Anyways, three of us ordered the Monte Cristos and My DH ordered the Blackened Chicken Ceasar. The Monte Cristos were great. First time I've ever had one. But the salad wasn't very blackened and kind of lacked. We then ordered the beniets (sp?). They were shaped like Mickey and came with vanilla and berry sauces for dipping. They were yummy. Our last and final lunch was at the pizza place at DCA near Paradise Pier. The pizza seemed pretty decent and I ordered the Pasta Chicken ??? Something Italian. Fussilli?? Anyways very good. So of the places we ate that is just my opinion. Wanted to try the Bengal BBQ, but we weren't there at the right time, and ran out of time to try the mexican place at DL. Although we were there 2 years ago and it was good. Have fun and good eating. :tinker:
