Help With Disney Dining Plan

I have been to Disney a few times but only stayed on site once. We are taking my sister and her two kids down with us when we go. We will be staying in seperate rooms. My sister, my niece (9) and my nephew (12) will be in one room and my husband and I will be in another.

If we book the dining package that includes one counter service meal, one table service meal and one snack ( I believe that the Allears website said the price was $39.99 per adult and $10.99 per child) does this mean that we can use one table service meal for each of the following: Crystal Palace, SciFi, and Chef Mickey?

To purchase the dining package, we need to book the resort and package for the 4 nights we are going to be there. Do we need to buy a 4 day ticket or can we each purchase a one day MYW ticket as we have already purchased our tickets?

Sorry for the questions but I just can't wrap my head around getting a Character meal, a counter service meal and a snack for $39.99 a person per day.

One more quick question. Can you get a CAA discount on the package or just on the resort?

Yes, you would be able to use your table services for the restaurants that you listed. All you need to do is call the reservation line and have them add it on. Hope this helps.

I don't know what the CAA discount is though- sorry!

You can use a table service credit for all the restaurants you have listed... and MANY more. (Check out allears.net) You can use your credits in any order you wish. As far as I know, you only have to buy a one day park ticket to buy the meal plan, but other posters may offer furthur insight into this.

As far as the meal plan being a good deal, it is.. definitely from the consumer's viewpoint. From Disney's viewpoint they probably profit more from people who use the meal plan than those who don't. Let's say the value of an average table service meal is $30 and the CS is $10, according to meal plan dynamics..and you get that mickey bar for free!! So, for lunch at Flame Tree BBQ you use a CS credit and get the Rib meal with sides, key lime pie, and a drink, a meal that has on OOP cost of $16.27 plus tax. BUT you (you wise Meal Plan Buyer You :woohoo:) used a credit that was only "worth" $10. You walk away happy that you got a good deal on a good meal. Disney on the other hand, probably had only a couple dollars invested in producing that meal for you so they still made a HUGE profit. And by offering you the meal plan, they made huge strides in keeping you in the park for your meals. Since you prepay, they have your money no matter where you eat. It really is a win-win situation for both parties, but Disney is definitely profiting more than we are saving. Have a great trip!!
