My son let something explode in the microwave and then continuted to cook more items so now the food is baked on! I do not know how to clean it becasue the directions said do not use abrasive cleaners but this soup(?) is baked on. It is a new microwave/convection and I try to wipe it after each use.!!

Put a glass measuring cup full of water in there until it boils. Let it sit in there for a minute or two. That should make everything easier to wipe out.

I guess the first thing to try is to get a microwave-safe bowl or measuring cup and fill it with water. Put it in the microwave for however long it takes to boil and let it continue to boil as long as you can. The steam and heat created should help soften some of the particles.

After that, I would try some Clorox Clean Up and let it sit for awhile. They tends to soften stuff up for me. You could then try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Bartender's Friend (or whatever it's called) is a good non-abrasive compound that I use on my glass cooktop with no problems.

Thanks I am going to try it now. THe hard part is that the lining is stainless. On my old one I used to use water and baking soda and let it boil as you all have suggested. thanks

You could also put a bowl of lemon juice in there and boil it. The steam and the lemon cut through the stuff that is caked on.
