Help with changing SW Airlines tickets online!

I believe I read before that there is a way to change or trade-in SW Airline tickets purchased online for a different date. I need to trade my May tickets for September tickets. I realize the price will most likely NOT be the same, but I won't be needing the flights in May and will be needing flights in September. Can someone please provide some guidance?

Go here:

and enter your confirm # and name and it will walk you through the process of cancelling that reservation.

Then, when you go online to place your new reservation, it will give you an option to apply unused funds from a previous confirm #... enter the old confirm # and it should bring up the amount of your credit. Book online as usual, and you will get a new confirm #. You can use the funds for up to 1 year from the original purchase date, I believe... if the fare works out cheaper, then you might still have some leftover for another trip

PS - I believe the schedule for southwest is only available through part of September, so if you are booking later on in September, you might have to wait until that schedule becomes available.

If you have money leftover, or cannot figure out how to work the website, call directly to SW airlines customer service. To get the price of airfare seen online, you will need to book online.

Once you have rebooked you can call SW Airlines and ask for the remaining funds to be refunded if you have any left over.

This is something I'm really good at, since i've changed mine 4 times (price change, room not available, etc) LOL!! I cancel via phone, and rebook via computer, so I can still get the double reward credits. I'm on cable, so I have it all set to put in the previous funds number, and then just click to rebook. It goes a lot faster if I call to cancel, and I just put in the new ressies immediately..making sure the new date was available before i cancelled. The friends fly free goes through, I believe Sept 13th. You can actually get a small part of your funds returned to you..the airport fees, it looks like.
SW has the best customer service, and the unheard of ability to change your flights at no extra cost (unless the actual fees have gone up). I can't say enough good about them.
