Hey DIS'ers,

I know I have seen this thread but for the life of me I cannot find it!:confused3

Can anyone help me with the dates for when they are making Candy Canes this Christmas?

I seem to remember December 9th being one of those dates and that when you get in DLR you head straight for the palace and stand in line for your ticket...any other suggestions? We will be using our MM.

We are going to be there on vacation Dec. 7 - 15, 2010.:santa::dance3:

Thank you so much!

The candy canes will be $9.95 each, limit 2 per person, and tickets will be distributed at park opening each day. If you aren't staying on property, it's always best to avoid the "Magic Morning" dates, since my experience has been that the candy cane tickets are usually distributed to hotel guests during Magic Morning before day guests get into the park at official park opening.

Califgirl,
I am told that they are HUGE, last a long time, and they are the BEST you have EVER tasted...I would like to try them once if I can. I have easily spent $10 on a couple of Starbucks coffees so why not give up a couple of seasonal lattes for a treat like that?!

I would also love for my DD to see how they are made by hand! <3

$9.95 each? For a candy cane? Seriously?

I think I'm kind of thinking the same way you are. It's not so much the price that bothers me in and of itself - I've seen how big the canes are and I'm sure they are a very good quality. If I were really into candy canes, I would think the price was worth it, I'm sure. The funny thing is - I love peppermint. I love peppermint ice cream with bits of candy cane crushed up in it, I love peppermint brownies, peppermint mochas, peppermint lip gloss, etc. I am eagerly awaiting the peppermint pot cake (demitasse dessert) at DLR. You would think that I'd be all over the huge, fresh candy canes. But, for some reason, I think, "Eh...$10 per candy cane...I could spend that $10 on a small souvenir, or another kind of treat while I'm there." For some reason, I can justify spending $10 on something like the peppermint pot cake or some ice cream in the big, festive holiday chocolate sprinkled cone more than I can justify spending it on candy canes.:confused3

Hmmmm.....we will actually be there on the 30th. Unfortunately our tickets do not have MM and its a Tuesday. Where would I get in line? Somewhere on Main Street or does the line begin outside the gates somewhere?

And what if I get one of the last tickets handed out....does it guarantee you a candy cane? Do they give you two tickets if you plan to guy two, or is it one ticket per person (and then the buyer decides at the time of purchase how many to buy)?

Just wondering if its worth trying for one....

Just wanted to comment on your name! lol..... I am too!! :thumbsup2
anyway....the line is appatently right outside the Candy Palace. They apparently do 3 batches and if you don't have MM you can usually still get a ticket for the 3rd batch. The line apparently moves pretty quick once it gets started, and then you can leave and just come back at the appropriate time to get your candy canes if you don't want to watch them being made. I'm in the same predicament, with annual passes there are no MM, but our daughter and her friend will have park hoppers with them so I plan on hounding they to do the MM and get in line for me! lol... hopefully they will help me out. DD is 20, so no one worry I'm sending my child in alone please!! :lmao:
this is all information I've gleaned from reading various Candy cane threads around the net! :thumbsup2

Last year we found one at Pooh's Corner. I guess it's not quite the same as getting one right from the candy palace but i too was curious about them and didn't want to fight the crowds to get one so this worked for us.
