I have just realised I am going to get my dollars tomorrow and I don't know how much to get. :guilty:

I know I need $8/9 a day for parking but how much will I need for the toll and petrol? :confused3 We plan on going to all the parks including BG and are staying on Hotel Plaza Blvd.

Plus what about food, won't be having any fancy meals, prob just fast food a lot of the time, and we won't drink alcohol much.

And i've just found out i've got to pay something like $7.25 a day per person for services at the hotel like internet access that I won't use :furious:

PLEASE HELP!

Hi Claire

Where are you staying that is charges you for services that you dont require.

When dh and I wenr last year we usually spent between $50 and $90 a day. We stayed onsite so all we really paid for was food and souvenirs. The food is more expensive in the parks so if you can eat breakfast and dinner outside sometimes that should really cut down on what you spend.

This is the fee you are talking about -

There is a $6.95 plus tax (including 11.5 percent tax) fee per room per night. Resort fee includes:

Transportation to Disney® Theme Parks

Transportation to Downtown Disney® after 6:00 p.m.

Disney® Channel

Daily newspaper

In-room safety deposit box

To be honest alot of hotels have these fees and for $6.25 a day it doesn't work out to be too much IMHO.

As for budget we take about $120 a day and it is usually the right amount and we have the cc for any large shopping purchases or the occassional big meal out :) BTW Crossroads is walkable for McD's, TGI FRidays, Pizzeria Uno and Red Lobster to name a few plus the supermarket Goodings.

Claire ;)

Thanks for explaining what the hotel charge is for.

And the money tips.

Right lets do some maths $120 a day x 14 = $1680

1 GBP = 1.89754 USD (xe.com)

That makes £885.358.

We shall see if I have saved enough when I go to the bank tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Hi Claire

I may be wrong, I am no financial expert, but I do not think you will get 1.89, I think that may be the bank rate, the tourist rate is a bit lower, for example with Lloyds today it is around 1.81 and with Marks and Spencers 1.84. If anyone disagrees please feel free to correct me...... this is just my understanding of it !

I didn't think i'd get that much but that website had an easy calculator, my Brain doesn't like to do maths on a Friday afternoon.

Please can someone tell me how much is the toll road is?

There are a few and the prices vary I think last year it was about 50c or 75c for the stretches that charged. To be honest there isn't much toll road most of it is out towards MCO. With regards to petrol I would say no more than $50 if you get the first tank included.

Claire ;)

Yes I will get some change at the airport and we may have a few coins somewhere from last year. Got all my money on Saturday from the post office, we had saved plenty, plus a pink suitcase from M&S!

glad to hear that all worked out well for you Claire, was there a good rate at the Post Office, the suitcase sounds very snazzy, I need to get a new one this year.

Thanks Jules, was very surprised DBF let me buy it, it isn't barbie pink though, it's magenta.
