I got this email today as a response to one I supposedly sent-I did NOT.. (I was Dissing at the time!) I guess it's bogus, I didn't click on the attachment. What do you computer experts think? (Note the time I supposedly sent it is 2 hours after they sent their response!) Read their message to me. Do you think they really got a password somehow?? Help!

I've your password. Take it easy!

No but they probably want you to respond and open a line of communication so as to obtain the password.

I would run a virus sweep on your PC. Do not respond to this email.

Good luck!

 Being the smart*** that I am, I responded with a really snotty remark about how I never sent them an email, especially 2 hours after they sent me a "response". I know, I am the stupid one, can't keep my big mouth shut. I will run a virus sweep as soon as I can figure out how. Thanks, I wish I had posted here first. DH is off in Montana-he is the computer genius, obviously not me....:(

I am smart enough (at least, I think?) to know not to give out any personal info, but can they now TAKE IT from my computer somehow??? (I told you , I am computer stupid-I know just enough to be dangerous!)

I get legit looking e-mails a couple times a week, and I hope it's not somebody looking for me, cause I delete them.

If I don't recogzine the name or address, it's gone!

If you are using AOL or Compuserve, BE VERY CAREFUL about what you delete.

I have lost THREE aol screen names until I found out, sometimes deleting the email is what triggers the virus to kick in.

Do you have a virus scan on your PC?

I do the same thing, feel bad if someone is sending me an E-card-it goes, too. I don't know what I was thinking with this one, because even when I get returned mail, it doesn't look like this in my mailbox...

Technically challenged, that's me....

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Really. Most newer PCs have virus software, and it often updates on it's own. I think you will be okay.

If you can , run a virus scan. If anything comes up, call your PC tech support.

I haven't deleted the email yet because I want my husband to see it. Although by the time he gets home, the damage will either be done or not at all...(He is always gone when there is a crisis-one time it was a copperhead on the front porch! Had to kill it myself-uhhh, let's not even go there...)

I am sure I have a virus scan. I will have to call someone to help me with it, hands on, I think. Thank you so much for helping me and for not calling me an idiot. I really appreciate that...;) :wave2:

I would probably run a virus scan and a spyware detection scan (Ad-aware - lavasoft.com) to be safe. But it's probably just an annoying email that's fine to delete.

If you are worried about things getting out of your computer, you need a firewall. Definitely look into that (zonelabs.com) if you haven't already.

Don't EVER respond to such an email. If it's spammers they now know that yours is a legitimate email address and you will find yourself flooded with spam, likewise never click on "unsubscribe" links, a lot of times they are really traps
