Hey guys we need help we are leaving next week for FW and we have black streaks on our aluminum camper. we have tried everything to get them off any suggestions.

Have you tried a product made just for removing black streaks ?

my husband went to walmart and they recommended simple green, but it takes a lot of elbow grease but it comes off...he said he did not see anything there for it... so I guess we will have to go to a camper store and see what they have. I was just hoping someone out here has already found the miracle cleaner... LOL...

Westley's Bleach White tire cleaner. Obviously, test on an inconspicuous spot first but it will clean most anything white extremely well. It makes black streak removal for me very easy.

I don't know if you guys have it down in the states but up here we have this thing called the magic eraser from Mr. Clean. I had some scum marks on the boat that took a lot of elbow grease and scrubbing to get it off. With this 'sponge' the effort was eased dramatically. I don't know how it works but all you do is soak it in water and scrub. I'm now a believer. My wife says they are a little pricey but the speed and ease of cleaning was worth it.

Chris.

We use a black streak remover..from Walmart..they also have it wipes.

Ok, I don't know if you have a dollar store where you live ( do they have these all over ) anyhow they have a product for a buck ( of course ) called awesome and it works great, we have been using it for years on our tt for black streaks and for a dollar you can't beat it. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

We had black steaks on our old camper that I tried everything to get off. When we traded it in our dealer went out and took them right off with a cleaner. I couldn't believe my eyes!

It is called Reliable. We get it at the RV shows or you can get it on on line at:

I absolutly love this stuff! I put it in my water when I wash the camper and it makes it very very white. People comment on how white it is. If you have a black streak you can put it on straight.

I also use it on the inside of the camper. It works really good on the grill too!

They have other products that I use all the time too, the Wash and Wax makes my vehicle dry without spots.

I would not be without this stuff!

Hope this helps!

:tink:

I 2nd awesome it wrks great and not a lot of rubbing you might want to cut it some with water just in case.

Reliable is an awesome product. Was recommended by our trailer manufacturer. cleaned the black streaks, mold etc.

thanks guys for the help we will be going out to look for these products and see what helps today he used Simple green and a little elbow grease...

We can't say enough about Awesome, like erasing chalk from a chalkboard with no residue left over. It's only $1 at the dollar store !
don't use it on painted objects though! :sad2:

We mixed some up medium-strength and washed it over our black streaks with a sponge and voila! Off they came.

well we tried awesome it did not work for us... He used simple green and a lot of elbow grease but it looks nice I am gonna have to check on the other stuff . Thanks for all your help...

Leaving for FW in a few days ... YIPPEE

Yeah what they say and if that doesn't work and the streaks really bother you paint your trailer black hehehehehehe. Once you are able to get them off I sudjest waxing your trailer a couple of times a year. It is alot easier to clean when there is wax on.

Wow, I can not beleive awesome didn't work for you, you are the first person I have come across that it didn't work for , sorry. Another sugestion is " black streak remover ", they sell this at walmart in the camping section...:flower3:

We always use Exit black streak remover. DH puts it in a spray bottle, sprays on the streaks and wipes it off. It works great. We've used it for nine years now. He buys it at a camping supply store or online.

Give it a try.
