First off my wife has never been to WDW. We arrive on 9/10 into MCO about 8am after watching the boy play football vs. FIU (Miami). Plan for the day is too just chill at the Beach Club pool.

Right now I have a 6:15pm res for Hoop-De-Doo on 9/10 but am rethinking as I would like to include a viewing of Wishes that evening. Not sure the wife would enjoy Hoop as much as Cali Grill or Morimoto (born/raised on Oahu). Also don't want to be pressed for time to get to a good out of park Wishes viewing area.

Thoughts?

If you're after a good out of park Wishes viewing area, book CaliGrill or Narcoossee's.

Morimoto or HDDR will have you running about some.

Since you are planning on hanging at the beach club pool all day then why don't you eat someplace near beach club. Beaches & Cream are really good and I love their ice cream and they are also located right at the Beach Club pool. Or you could do Captains Grill or Yachtmans Steakhouse over at Yacht Club I have heard both places are excellent. Maybe do a little earlier dinner like around 5:00 - 5:30 so you won't be pressed for time to get to MK for Wishes

You can two things. I would cancel HDDR for a number of reasons, but mostly because it looks like you want to view a fireworks display. You could book Narcoossees and watch the show form their veranda, (Great view, awesome food and relaxing atmosphere) California Grill and see the show from that vantage point, (Outstanding view, not so quiet meal) or.....you could ditch Wishes and if the Starwars display is going on, I read you can see it from the Beach Club. You could book dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, which is right there or any of the other restaurants on the Boardwalk area, and then settle in to see that show. No travel involved.

Thanks for the feedback. Cancelled the HDDR and grabbed a 6:55pm ADR at CG. Think that will be a much better option.

I agree with NancyG56. I would choose Yachtsman Steakhouse for a great dinner with wonderful service and then watch the fireworks at DHS. They have been getting rave reviews. Travel day is tiring, and this will limit the amount of travel you have to do

What time are the fireworks that night? If dinner is at 7 and fireworks are at 10, you have a long time to wait.

We try to limit our travel that first night, you never know how it wil hit you

Wishes is at 9pm that night.
Search helped determine that a 7pm ADR was just about the right time for 9pm Wishes since CG seems to be about 1.5 hour dining experience and it's usually 15-30 minutes to be seated.

That is the time frame I always use.

We always time it two hours or so before Wishes so this is perfect!

Enjoy the meal and the view. It is spectacular.
