I'm buying an annual pass online, but since I don't live in Orlando, can't activate it until my trip. Have my room booked with the AP discount, but have read I won't get the discount without the activated pass. How does this work if I get there on a Saturday? Can I buy the dining card over the phone with my annual pass receipt, or will I need an activated AP for that as well? If so, can I buy one on a Saturday? HELP!!!

You should be able to call the DDE number and request your card with either your confirmation # on ordering the AP or the # on the back of the voucher. It doesn't need to be activated to order the DDE. They won't require you to activate the AP before you arrive (I don't think you even CAN activate it before you arrive! ;) )

Just to add to what Lollipop mom said, there is quite a backlog right now on receiving the actual DDE card. We did just this a couple of weeks ago (still haven't received card). Tell the person with DDE when you are coming and they will fax or email you a letter stating that you have an active DDE. I took that letter with me and used it in several restaurants in lieu of the card without any problem. We make up the cost of the DDE with just a couple of meals for our family, gotto love it!!

I just received my voucher for my Premium Annual Pass in the mail on Friday. I called during my lunch hour today to order my Disney Dining Experience card. I live in NY and obviously, I did not fly down this weekend to get my excahnge my voucher for an activated AP! :rotfl:
So I called Disney Dining Experience and they asked for the numbers on the back of the AP voucher (Walt Disney World Exchange Cerificate). They asked my name, address, phone number, birthday, etc. and my spouse's name. They explained it will definitely take 4-6 weeks to receive because of computer problems and high demand. If I do not receive the card, the confirmation e-mail they send will suffice. (I am going the first week of May).
You cannot use the receipt, you need the voucher (Exchange Certificate).
Good Luck!! :wave2:

FYI, when we were at the Yacht Club in February they were very nice about the voucher. We just checked in, then later walked over to the International Gateway and activated. Went back by and they were like, oh, we trusted you, you didn't have to bring it by. :teeth: The email letter works great, I actually had another one sent for this upcoming trip but my card arrived last week :Pinkbounc

Pardon me for being ignorant, but I received my AP voucher today (which is green), but I didn't see any numbers on the back of it. I just have my confirmation number they gave me when I ordered it. Is this the number that I will need to use the DDE card? I'm hoping they won't give me a hard time since I don't see any "voucher" number on my green card. Please let me know if I am overlooking something? Thanks.

As I said I just signed up for DDE this past week. On the back of the card there are letters and Numbers on top of the barcode. These are the numbers the CM will ask for when you call DDE. The CM will walk you through it, just explain that you have an AP Exchange Certificate and he/she will tell you exactly what he/she needs! Good Luck!

Thanks so much. I was expecting some long number and was a little nervous when I saw the card. We are leaving on 5/21. I'd rather have the card with me than an email so if I order the DDE card tomorrow, am I ordering it too early or should I wait until next week some time. Thanks for the advice.

No, it's fine to order tomorrow. It is certainly taking its time arriving. It seems as if the card is taking about 8 weeks to arrive. I ordered mine 2/17, exactly at the 8 weeks mark, so nothing yet. If you order it tomorrow, it will be valid until either 3/31/06 or 4/31/06. Mine is valid until 3/31/06 and I ordered it in Feb.
Hope this helps :)

Do you mean how long after you receive the AP voucher can you wait to redeem it?
You can't redeeem it until you physically get there to do so. But you want to buy them ahead of time to get the DVC discount.
I bought through the link at the DVC website, and they mailed me my vouchers. I will have them with me when I go next month and will activate them the 1st day.
I hope this helped.

I read somewhere that people were activating vouchers that were some 5 years old. The voucher does not expire but the pass does.

Is the above experience an example of 'depends on the CM one talks to?'

I called the DDE number, 407-556-5858, and got a 'this number is out of service' recording. I then called Disney Dining who, after giving me this numberagain and I noting it did not work, then transferred me to the main switch board who finally connected me to this office.

The CM at DDE said they could no accept the number on the Will Call Certificate--I ordered the AP online and opted for pick up when I arrive at WDW. I do not live in FL and do not arrive in Orlando until June.--I needed to provide the number on the back of the voucher or the ticket itself. I was also told that the DDE is activated immediately on purchase. Since I was not arriving until June, I would be paying for use in April and May :confused3 ; so her recommendation was that I call--on weekdays--once I arrive in FL and have activated/recieved the pass and a letter could be faxed to our resort.

For anyone who has ordered an AP or PAP from the disneyworld.com, did you receive a voucher in addition to the will call certificate or are these documents one and the same? Also, is there not one flat charge, $50, for the DDE card for passholders? I don't the understand the CM's comment about paying for use in April and May. Thanks in advance for questions/clarifications.
