Hi-

DH and I are going down in June for our anniv. (We will be down with the kiddos one month prior).

We typically go to Flying Fish every time we go to WDW (love it...fav restaraunt). Since we will be down one month before we wanted to try some different things.

Blue Zoo is defintely on our short list!

Other possibilities are:

Calli Grill (DH doesn't care as much about seing the fireworks as the food).
Narcossee's (sp?)
Fulton's

We typically do not eat steak out since, DH grills a great one at home. Also, Jiko's menu doesn't appeal to us (sorry...no offense).

Any suggestions?

Blue Zoo or Cali Grill. Blue Zoo is likely be less hectic but lacks anything Disney about it. That may or may not be an issue for you.

Been to all and bluezoo is definitely the best on your list (I do love Flying Fish too). Ca Grill is good if you enjoy the sushi but the other food, doesn't compare to bluezoo. Narcoosees is a step down from CG and Fulton's is a step down from Narcoosees.

Have you looked at the menu for Bistro de Paris? It's another excellent choice for dining in a room with other adults. I would rank it and bluezoo on about the same level.

I say eat at bluezoo (never tried but it sounds like you guys already picked this one), California Grill and Narcoossee's- both beautiful, delicious and yummy.

I went to Jiko last year and the only thing I could order was the filet as the menu didn't appeal to me either, I reallllllly disliked the filet. I make some mean steaks at home like you guys so I know what you mean.

Blue Zoo is a a definite.

Between the other 3 which is better food wise (DH eats sushi, I don't).

Not big fans of French Food...I know we are getting pretty picky:rotfl:

Although le Bistro looks good, too.

I wouldn't try sushi either but I still loved California Grill.

I love Narcoossee's and will always eat there every year, it's the only restaurant we must eat at every year... I think California Grill might become one soon too, but we'll see.

Another place that you might want to check out is the upstairs dining room at Wolfgang Puck's. DW and I ate there on our honeymoon and it was one of our favorites.

Good luck, and have a great time!

1) Our recommendations:
. . . Shula's
. . . Blue Zoo
. . . Bistro de Paris
2) We like these because
. . . very few, if any kids
. . . good menus
. . . quite environment
. . . pleasant atmosphere
. . . not on DDP, so people are different

Ooh...Shula's does look very good!

We've decided we're trying Shula's on our next trip. It looks like a great place to have a delicious, quiet, adult dinner. I'm a big fan of Mahi-mahi and red snapper, both look good on their menu.

I LOVE Mahi-Mahi, too. Never had Red Snapper. How does it compare in texture and flavor?

The reason why I would never pick Shula's is because we have one at home. And there are Shula's in many places in the country, with 4 more opening this year. It's not very Disney to me when I can go to downtown Portland and get the same meal, for less. But it is very good.

But it's like McDonald's at Disney... I like McDonald's but I have it at home.

I'll try. To me, red snapper tends to be a little more delicate in texture and flavor. I tend to pick red snapper over mahi-mahi when I have a choice, because I can get mahi-mahi more places.
Neither one has a "fishy" taste. I'll bet you'd like red snapper, if you like mahi-mahi.

Totally understand, but lately at Disney we've not had great luck with having a quiet, romantic dinner. Citrico's last year was a zoo. I looked at the server and said, "It's like chuckie cheese in here." She quietly replied, "every night."
The nice thing is Shula's doesn't offer a kids menu, so I'm hoping it will be a little more quiet.
And yes, I like kids. I don't think they should be banned from Signature restaurants--just that if they are running circles around the dining room, yelling and squealing, (which is what was happening at Citrico's) it might be good to take them out.

Maybe one of these days they'll have a no-kids section at Disney restaurants.... or any restaurant. I would be so happy if they did. I love kids but when I am eating, they become extremely annoying for me.

Well, if you eat at Flying Fish everytime, (like we do) and have a hubby that grills a great steak (like I do) then you know, Flying Fish is the only place on disney property to get a great steak. Ask for the sauce on the side.

Blue Zoo is fabulous.

Skip CA Grill for the time being.

Jiko should be ok...enjoy something wonderful.

IL Mulino at Swan is also wonderful.

Enjoy!
