We have had long standing reservations for next week for Liberty Tree and Hollywood and Vine Play and Dine (both buffets) and just today our friend's 17 year old daughter decided to come with us- after having sort of a rough summer. Disney dining CANNOT add her on to the ressies for these buffets. Does anyone know what is going to happen if we just show up with her and say that we are now 7 instead of 6 and that we will just squish? After all, three of the seven are little kids under the age of 6. I am sure space will not be an issue. Anyone ever dealt with this? Any advice? Please help. My kids will be devastated if they can't eat with Jojo and Goliath.

It's been my experience that they will not let you add a person to your reservation if you just show up. What I have seen in the past is that they'll add you to the walk up list instead. You can keep calling to see if they have availability for your larger party due to cancellations up until you leave which is what I would do. Good luck!

That's tough...but luckily it seems like you're only worried about 2 reservations. Since next week is free dining - I would say the restaurants will be very busy and I would not expect to get in with a larger party....that said - you can certainly do everything in your power to TRY...get there early - VERY early for your ADR and let them know OR try going just at the beginning of the dinner seating time and let them know your story OR try going for a lunch at an unusual time. You might get lucky - but if you and your kids have your heart set on these - just go in with the original 6 (or maybe the parent of the recently-added teenager would want to sit out too, then you would go in with one less than your original party size which they likely will be OK with) - and the teenager and the parent or other person can just grab a CS meal somewhere. I'm betting a 17 year old will not be devastated to be missing JoJo and LE....so it shouldn't be a huge deal. Just meet up after the meal. Chances are with free dining going on getting this new addition into ANY popular TS meals is going to be near to impossible. So CS meals are likely the way to go for her - maybe your party can take turns being a 'meal partner' with her and skipping on the TS meals to keep her company at a CS place.

Best of luck and ENJOY (maybe we'll see you at Play & Dine - going on Labor day myself :)).

Fire codes are really strict there. They have to keep count of each person, even infants, and not how many can fit at a table. Sorry. Good luck adding her on. Try asking for 2 tables and split the group up.

It has been my experience for it not to be a big deal. The first year of free dining I made all of our dining ressie NOT to include our 5 mo who was not using a high chair at the time. Upon arriving at our first ADR, I quickly realized I should have included her in our table size. Everyone was very accomodating and I was never asked to wait or be put upon the wait list. We were seated just as before. Once we even had 2 tables because of party size and upon arriving we asked to sit together and they were more than happy to accomodate us and sit us together at one table. I believe if you go at your scheduled time checking in a little early and pleasantly explaining the situation most places should be more than happy to accomodate you. ;)

:thumbsup2 We had exact same issue w/our nephew last yr during free dining & everywhere it was Not any problem at all! This even included Cinderella's breakfast at the castle!!!!! Definately do Not worry about it! I know you'll have a Magical time!
