Help with AKV room request

I will be calling in exactly one week from tomorrow morning to make my AKV reservations for next October. My plan is to try to book a concierge studio for Saturday night, then move to a 2 BR savanna view room at Kidani for the next 6 nights. I know I will request savanna view for the studio, but I have no idea what to request for the 2 BR. Should I request a certain savanna (or is there only one at Kidani)? certain floor? near the pool? I know it's just a request and not a guarantee, but I'd like to try to get a nice view and location as this is our first trip home. Does anyone who has stayed there have any advice?

We wait until it gets closer to our vacation to make our requests. Things can change during the next 11 months. Pools can be closed for refurb, savannas may open or close, additional trip reports can be reviewed.

As long as your request is noted on your reservation prior to it going to the room assigner, your request can be added or changed at any time.

You can request Savanna view for the Concierge level, but you might not get it. There are only 3 savanna view units available. Also, you will NOT be able to book both rooms at the same time. You will be able to book the one night in concierge,and then you'll have to call back the next day (new 11 month window) to book the 2 bedroom at Kidani.

There are two savannas at Kidani: Sunset and Pembe. Pembe is a small savanna located on the pool side of the north wing of Kidani. It has some unusual animals (okapi, hornbills) but no giraffes or zebras. If seeing giraffes from your balcony is important to you then request a room on the Sunset Savanna, if you prefer okapi and hornbills then request Pembe.

A room on the Pembe Savanna will put you on the upper half of the north wing so you would be as far as you can be from Jambo House. If you plan to go to Jambo House frequently (for meals for example) then it will be a longer walk. The rooms on the other side of that hallway face Sunset so you could have a room on the Sunset Savanna and still end up just as far from Jambo House! If being close to Jambo House is important then you could request "Sunset, close to Jambo House" in hopes of getting a room in the South wing. Just be aware that the closer you are to Jambo House, the further you will be from the Kidani pool area.

Rooms on the Pembe Savanna will be very close or fairly close to the pool at Kidani since the pool is opposite the lower half of the north wing. It's also possible to get a room facing the Sunset Savanna and be very close to the pool.

Re: floor requests, I prefer the lower floors so that I can be as close to the animals as possible.
