Can anyone help with the best transfer option from LAX to DL and back please. There will be five of us, probably with two suitcases each due to New York shopping......We fly in at about 10am and need to get back to the airport a few days later at about 7pm if that makes any difference to our options.

My mum has actually used this.
I'm a firm believer in car rental in the USA. BUT my mum had to leave earlier once and took this to the airport. Thought it was awesome. And this is from someone that hates public transport.

Have used prime time shuttles twice. Good service, clean vans. You can share for around $75 each way. We booked a private service form$85 each way. Room for 8-10. Plenty of baggage space and no need to pick up other passengers and hotel hop.

I've heard from friends that the Disneyland Express shuttle is really good. The only draw back is my friends had to wait on the bus for ages while they picked up lots of other passengers which was a bit of a bummer since they were so tired.

I'm not sure what the pricing is but I'd consider comparing the prices for somewhere like Melbourne5 mentions because for an extra couple of dollars you might get a swifter trip. If it's heaps more though the Disney Express is probably the go.

I've used the DL Express before and we loved it. Only annoying thing.... we arrived in the morning off that long flight, to see the bus pulling away! That left an hour curbside waiting for the next one, although you are arriving at 10am and I think they start running on the half hour from 10.30am :confused3

We were staying at GCH, so our only stop on the way there and back was at DLH. If you were staying off site as Ms.Shuttergirl mentioned, you may have quite a few stops and it's also possible you will have to change buses at DLH too.

Also check DL Express on luggage. I had a feeling they advertise it's one bag :confused3 (although when we left to go back to the airport, we had two each without a problem)
Shuttle sounds good for that many people if you are not staying at one of the DLR hotels as it could be a long drive and the bus change could be a pain.

Thanks everyone. We only have a relatively short flight from NY so should not be tired and cranky (fingers crossed). We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel which I am quite excited about. It seems a little overpriced but I have never stayed at DL before (my grandparents lived near Anaheim so it was day trips only) and I wanted the boys to have the full Disney immersion.

The trip became even better today as it has been confirmed that my aunt and uncle, two cousins and their children - all from San Francisco - are meeting us at Disneyland.what can be better than a family reunion at the 'happiest place in earth'?

DLH is a little overpriced but it is about the immersion into all things Disney isn't it? :) And with the refurb completed I can only imagine how lovely it is since I was there in '09. Wonderful news that your family will be meeting you there. It can only make the whole experience better.

I'm with everyone else - the shuttle. I found it so good - bus only half full, clean and newish and plush - very comfortable.
In the day it runs every 30 minutes so it is never much of a wait. cheap. and staying at the DLH is great cause it goes straight there and it is the first stop. enjoy

Another vote for DL Resort Express, I've used it 3 times and had no issues, have booked the $99 family return tickets for this trip.

When I went with my sister and niece last January we splurged and got a private car to pick us up - which was a nice bit of luxury and saved us a possible half hour wait for the DLR Express, but I wouldn't pay the extra for it again.
