I am a little confused about ADRs, can you only book in advance if you are staying in a disney hotel? Also do you have to be on the disney dining plan to book? Any advice would be much appreciated? Thanks

Ok its totally confused me too.

You can book ADRs in advance if you are on or off site.

ON SITE. They will only take bookings 90 days from your check in date and you can only book up to 10 days after this so if you are staying for 14 nights you can book for the first 10 and then call back four days later for the others. I had no problem doing this when I booked mine last month.

If you are OFF SITE then you can only book one day at a time which means lots of calls or as some do work out what date your 90 day + would be and then book them then so 90 days out work out what date would then be 14 days after and you can call and make them all then.

You can now also make reservations online but as I did not use this someone else that has can give you advice.

You DO NOT have to be on the dinning plan to book ADRs most of the signature restaurants will require you to pay a deposit to secure your reservations (think Ohana is one of them but we have not booked any of those maybe some one can give you a list) We are on the Dinning plan but its the counter service one but we are going to treat ourselves to a couple of Table service meals and pay as we go.

Hope that helps:goodvibes

hi

there is a thread on here about booking online :goodvibes . if you are going during free dining i would recommend booking for table service meals, as everywhere we went to eat was fully booked. during free DDP.

you do not have to be on DDP to book in advance - i have booked a few of mine online without DDP, you just need to register on site as they confirm with an email. you can only book at the 90 day point and miss the 90+10 days which is for disney guests only

When I rang back for my second time a couple of days ago, I was told that the +10 day rule only applied the first time that you rang and that I was unable to add any extra booking s at that time.

I will be ringing again tomorrow at midday and I will see what the next CM I speak to says as I still have about 6 days worth of ADR's to make. It seems to me from reading various threads that how good the ADR system is depends greatly on the person that you speak to on the phone.

Would agree with that, although they are all nice & friendly some really haven't got a clue and get very confused about what you can and can't do. I'm sure we booked at the 90+10 for last 4 days of our holiday last year (only it was 180+10 then!), a day at a time mind you (i.e when they are each 100 days away)

Yes I'd ring back. You can book 90+10 when you book, including the end of your stay.

Think they get confused because most Americans don't stay for longer than 10 days.

Well I just rung back on finished off making all of my ADR's (be the way - anyone expecting to get Le Cellier before September 24 will find it all booked solid!)

I had to change the day of Le Cellier (because I was unable to book all of them last time thanks to a CM who didn't let me) but with a little bit of quick re-juggling I managed to get in before ther holiday finishes.

It can be a headache especially if you get a CM that will not let you book what you are entitled to and I wish now that I would have rung back the next day rather than wait, but as I say, we overcame the problem and we are eating everywhere that we wanted to.

I rang dead-on 12 midday today and was waiting for 35 mins so good luck to anyone else making ADR's although to be fair - that is the longest wait I have had and this was my 3rd phonecall this time.
