Which rest. has better food Ohana or Kona Cafe? I can't decide which to choose for dinner. Please help!!! Thanks!

Ohana is fabulous. They serve food "family-style" and plenty of it! If you time it right, you can catch a glimpse of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the restaurant. Kona was a disappointing experience - we didn't like the food at all. However, plenty of people love Kona, so I am inclined to say that we dined there when they were having an "off" night. The resaturant itself doesn't have as much atmosphere and isn't as large, but I think the food options are more varied.

We love O'Hana! Yummy food, fun atmosphere....and when you arrive at the check in desk, politely request a table by the window. Even if it's not late enough for fireworks, you still get a nice view of the Castle!!

For the food? I'd say hands down Kona. Atmosphere? O'Hana.
Here's why I say that.
In our maybe 5 or 6 trips to O'Hana over the years, it's just always been good food, not great but good. I still like it, I'll just only go if I'm there for a trip for a week or more. Stuff made in masses for the masses. Better than most of the WDW that do that IMO tho. We had had Kona for breakfast on our first trip ever to WDW and just felt eh. I don't know what's wrong w/ me. I LOVE sugar but just didn't groove on the Tonga Toast. But last trip, we tried Kona for dinner. Holy HANNAH! It is now our very FAVORITE place for food. Even over The Blue Zoo or any other of the high end WDW places. We've been to most of them save V&A. It was busy and loud, I far preferred O'Hana for atmophere, but my dinner was completely out of this world. My husband was in heaven w/ his as well and our son loved his! He's hard to please. Typical picky little boy. He CHOWED their chicken wings. And their desserts. OMG!:worship: Suffice to say, I'm NOT sharing mine w/ hubby next time. He can get his own. :rolleyes1

Our next trip will consist of only 2 nights in WDW B4 the cruise and THAT is our very first place we are going to go.

I have not eaten at either but we were forced to make the same decision and chose Ohana. We liked the menu and loved that our son (3) could just eat some plain meats. We are doing Kona for breakfast! :)

We have been to both several times. We prefer Kona Cafe. I've always said that 'Ohana = quantity and Kona Cafe = quality.

You can't go wrong with either, but in my experience I'd say Ohana(bread pudding & sauce is to die for) for dinner and Kona (love the Tonga Toast)for breakfast. As I always tell our kids, when you have 2 good choices, you can't make a bad decision!

Well, I used to be a huge fan of Ohana at dinner and recommended it to all of my "Disney friends," but I can no longer recommend Ohana for dinner. We went there for dinner Easter week and it was awful. I won't go into all of the details again, but it really was bad enough to almost ruin our last night at Disney. So, with that said, I voted for Kona Cafe. By the way, I love Ohana for breakfast, just not dinner anymore.
