My DW and I reserved our first trip home in January. We booked 7 nights at SSR. Our flight got all screwed up and now we need to stay an extra night.

We don't want to stay on points being that it is 20 points for a studio for a Saturday.

So, here's my questions:

If we pay cash to stay at a value like Pop, can we add an extra night on to our meal plan which we've booked already?

Also, can we get the AP rate if we've purchased, but not yet activated our AP?

Finally, i presume Magical Express would still take us back to the airport, this time from Pop instead of SSR?

Thanks!

I don't believe so. To purchase the plan you have to either :

1. Be a DVC member staying at a DVC resort on points, or
2. Buy it in conjunction with a room and at least one day of admission.

Since you aren't doing that, I don't believe you can add 1 night of the dining plan.

Yes, you can book an AP rate without an activated AP, or with no AP at all. The only requirement is that you show an activated AP at check-in.

Yes, that is correct.

No you can't add the plan to the pop night but chances are you'll have an extra days worth of Credits anyways. Its alot of food.

All credits will expire at midnight of the last night of the DVC ressie.

Since the cash ressie is a separate ressie from the DVC, you should be able to purchase DDP for that night. We purchased the DDP with AP rate nights at Caribbean Beach in August. We extended our trip last minute using AP rates. However, we had to book the DDP with the AP ressies and pay it in full because we were within the 30 day mark. Call Disney reservations or go online and act like you are going to re-book the room. See if the DDP is an option in the booking process. You can also book ME at this time. If it is, re-book the room w/ddp and ME and cancel your prior ressie.

This is different than when adding the DDP to DVC, because with a DVC ressie you don't pay for the DDP until you check in.

I'd try to get a studio for cash through DVC and link the reservation. If you stay somewhere else such as a value, I would not get the DDP and just use the extra full day (day you move) to ensure you use up the credits.

If the OP books using an AP rate then they can ADD the DDP to that night.

That said after 7 nights I would not think you are going to want the DDP for the one last night. Plus as has been pointed out if you check out of SSR on Sat morning you have until midnight Sat to use any remaining credits. I bet you have some!

Having priced the studio... I would move to either a value or moderate. Or if you plane is EARLY the next day, I would move to the airport. DME will take you late at night to the airport I believe.

Well what I meant was using them that night you move. Since they will be checking out the next day I doubt they are going to dinner after they have checked out of Pop. So you can use the extra credits that night when they are at Pop.
