Help with a Window Treatment

I have a small window over my kitchen sink that I would like to put a window treatment on. I like the look of the tie up shades (in white) since I would still like some light to come through and be able to somewhat see out. I found this one on Amazon.com:

The question I have is that it is 40" wide and I measured my window for an inside mount at 34". There are cabinets on both sides of the window so I don't think I can do an outside mount. Will it still look ok or will it be too puckered? Any thoughts?


Edited to add: I have checked Pier One, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens N Things, Sears, JC Penney, Target, Kmart, and Walmart to no avail. Also, I know these are probably easy to make, but I have ZERO sewing ability.

I've seen shorter shades just like these, but I can't tell you exactly where. check sears, Linen and things, pier one?, hmmm how 'bout target. I like these kinds of shades. I think just a shorter shade would be great. Good luck!

You have an extra 6 inches if you do an inside mount. It will not lay flat and you will not get the look as in the picture. I would keep looking or pay someone to make one to fit your window. You will be much happier.

You could use tension rod between cabinets if that measurement is closer
to the 40". Also, potterybarn.com has similar shades in 32 and 36 widths.

I never thought of a tension rod......that might work (and make my husband happy by not having to hang the curtains). I think the distance between the cabinets is 38" so that would put me close to the 40". Thanks!
