Hi everyone
I need some help with a project that my church is working on.
Instead of purchasing a pre-packaged Vacation Bible School program this year, we are putting together one of our own. The theme will coincide with what our local school district is doing as well as a K-12 program that was put together at the University of Delaware. The goal is to teach kids the importance of respect and good manners but ours will of course be from a biblical perspective.
So, our church wants us all to participate by taking a few minutes to jot down a few things. Specifically, what is your pet peeve? And what lack of manners annoy you? Is it a cahier talking on her cell phone instead of giving you her undivided attention?
Is it people who chew gum in church? What lessons do we need to teach our children (and adults)?
Secondly, they want us to also tell them about a time we've been impressed by someone's good manners?
What did we see or hear in the behavior of another that inspired, surprised, encouraged or challenged us? What good manners would we like to affirm?
So, I thought with as many people who are on the Dis, we'd be able to come up with some great ideas!!
I'll try and go first... but I don't know if it counts as a manners thing or if it's just plain annoying but my pet peeve is, it drives me crazy when I'm on a two lane highway and people will just cruise along in the passing lane. If you want to cruise along, i.e., you're not passing someone then please stay in the right lane. ~Keep right Pass left~
And good manners? Well, I still genuinely appreciate it when someone holds the door open for me.
Well, if you get the chance thanks for your help in this little project.
