We are working on our rough plan since our 180 days is coming up quickly. I have a few quick questions, though.
1) quick service- is that simply like a fast food type place where we can expect to just walk up and stand in line to order with no reservation needed?
2) Is it a bad plan to schedule a character meal (Chef Mickeys or 1900 Park, we need to see Princesses!) on a day when we are NOT at MK (but at HS or EP instead)?
3) Any suggestions for DTD? (I can probably do a forum search on this, I'm guessing).
4) There will be 10 of us. Will ADRs be difficult with that many people?

Thanks!

Someone will come by with more info for you.

Quick Service: is kinda a funny name depending on the time you get there it is not so quick ;) However, you don't need a ressie and can walk up, order and get your meal. Some of the places the meals are large enough you can split, depending on snacking and your eating style.

With 10 of you, you want to make ADR and want to be flexible about when you eat and where. Eat on off peak times, but you will want these for sit down meals.

As for seeing Princesses, I'm pretty sure that will be a "ride" not a meal. My kiddos were never into them. But my Niece would get a FF to see them. But I could be wrong :)

With 10 people you need to make your ADRs at the 180 day mark. If you can't find what you are looking for you can call the restaurant directly. They might be able to help you, no promises thought.

I don't know what kind of food your family likes but DTD has a lot of options. We like Bongos if that helps you at all.

Have fun planning

There are character meals in the other parks too. You can see princesses at Akershus (Norway) in Epcot, or Chip and Dale and friends at Garden Grill (the Land). We're also planning on a Disney Jr character breakfast at HS, if your kiddos like Sofia, Jake, etc.

I definitely would schedule your meal reservations in or near the park you plan on being at for the day. You lose a lot of time doing extra transportation. Another option for you a meal on your HS / Epcot day is eating breakfast / brunch at the Cape May Cafe. It's within walking distance of both parks. It's really cute bc goofy, Donald and Minnie are in their swim gear.

I suggest Raglan Road at Downtown Disney. Very good food and very cool entertainment... Irish step dancers and Irish music.

QS is like fast food though there are a lot of options that are much better then fast food. No reservations needed for any QS place except BoG (Be Our Guest).

We scheduled Chef Mickey's for our EPCOT day, it fit best in there, we figure with the monorail it will work out. We did schedule it late enough that we weren't planning to go back to the park afterwards though. In general I did try to keep my meals near or in the park of choice for the day, so Sanaa when we are doing Animal Kingdom for instance.

We love Raglan Road and actually really enjoyed T-Rex as well last time we were at Downtown Disney. There is also Rainforest Cafe, which is owned by the same people as T-Rex, but with a different theme and a mildly different menu. Morimoto Asia looks like it should be awesome too, but it is probably better for adults then kids.

Depending on when your trip is, 10 people may or may not be a problem. We got reservations for 11 to 13 for our group with no problem, in fact I was able to change a couple and I can still get some for the dates we are going. If you are going at a busier time it will be tougher. Remember you can split your group, you'll need two accounts, but you can do 2 reservations of 5 or one of 6 and one of 4 at the same time, if you can't find a reservation for 10, then just ask to be seat near each other.
