We're going to be in Disney during my aunt's 60th birthday. We have ADRs at LeCellier, California Grill and Kona. Anyone had any experience celebrating a birthday at one of these places? Should I order a cake? Should I call ahead to let them know or just notify them when we arrive its her birthday?

Our party is all adults (ages 23-60) and we are not on DDP.

Just was at WDW a few weeks ago for during my sis' birthday. She was sooo proud of her Happy Birthday button she got and wore it, that was, until we were at Trail's End and they had everyone yeehaw her! Next thing I know, the button was off! We went to the Yachtsmen and I had told them it was her birthday - they gave her a birthday button to wear, her own 'personalized' menu (a menu with her name on it) and after dinner, presented her with a mini chocolate cake that had 'happy birthday' on the the plate and a candle on the cake. They then sang to her. It was great.
(No charge for any of this). What was great was how many folks, both CM's and fellow guests alike acknowledged her birthday. Very special time for her.

Thanks for the info!

Where did you get the button? I thought I read somewhere to get it at guest services in the park. Her actually birthday is the day after we leave - does that matter?

I also have had many birthday celebration dinners at the Yachtsman - as a matter of fact we had a combined birthday dinner for 3 people in our group. This restaurant has become the only one we plan for a birthday dinner and we usually order a birthday cake. The staff is always great about it- this last one was a surprise party for the 3 involved and they manager and chef's were great about helping with the surprise.

The food is always great and the staff still understands "Disney Magic"

Whereever you decide have a great time and let her wear a birthday button the whole trip - the attention is great at the parades and even the guests who walk by you! It's adds that little bit of Disney to your birthday celebration.

No, it does not matter that her actual birthday is the day after you leave. My birthday is December 30, but my husband took me September 1 through 9 for my 50th birthday, and they gave me a button at the desk at check-in and told me to wear it every day (and City Hall gave me a second one because they had forgotten to put my name on it).
