Looking for some help -our flight arrives at MCO at 5 p.m and we have an 8:05 ADR at Chef Mickey's. Will we have enough time to get on DME to our resort (CBR) and then get a cab to Chef Mickey's on time? The 8:05 was the only time I could get.

You might make it in time. But everything has to go smoothly. I would not risk the CC guarantee on arrival day, but some do.

If all goes well, we can usually walk into the MK 3 hours after flight arrival. (assumes using ME and going to a resort first).

If you are sure you want to do this, just remember buses don't go from resort to resort. You'll need to take a bus to the MK, then walk over to the CR. Or better yet, budget for a taxi that night.

And pray that your flight isn't delayed even a little bit. Not something I'd want to bet on with afternoon thunderstorms so common in Florida this time of year.

I agree with PP, if your flight is on schedule and you take a cab from CBR to CR, your should be good. Enjoy!

You said it is the only time you can get Since we don't know how far out you are planning/how many in your party etc you may be able to reschedule I would keep trying Stranger things have happened with that restaurant and last minute openings I would be a pest with the dining line AND keep checking the web site

If really can't and your flight is on time, all goes well with DME, a cab should get you there in time

if a summer trip could have weather delays which could cause you to be late or miss. can you afford the $10 per person fee for missing?

You'll be fine. Just no dilly dally.

It's not really helpful to say something like that when it may not be the case. As other people have pointed out, there could be flight delays or other problems that could cause them to miss it.

The one question you have to answer is if you are willing to accept the fee if you can't make it. There is a very good reason I won't make an ADR on arrival day. There is simply way too much that could happen to make me miss that reservation and I don't want to waste the money.

If you're flying from an airport that has a reasonably good reputation for good service, you should be OK. The airport that I fly out of seems to have no problems, however my traveling companion flys out of a different airport and she always arrives at MCO very very late.

Our rule of thumb is to allow 3 hours from arrival at MCO to starting our first vacation activity such as walking through a park's turnstile or checking in at a restaurant. If all goes smoothly, you should be able to get to Chef Mickey's at 8:05, but what if things don't go smoothly? There have been times that we've experienced one kind of delay or another that we had no control over - bad weather, mechanical problem on the plane, delays at the gate. It meant we arrived later than expected or took longer than 3 hours after arriving at MCO. If something happens and you miss your dinner reservation there will also be the $10 per person penalty that you'll have to pay.

This is a little different than your situation, but we were running late on the day of check out and knew we wouldn't make our 12:00 ADR at Trex, so I went to the concierge at the resort and they said no problem, noted it on our reservation, and indicated we would not be charged as long as we showed up. We were seated almost immediately once we arrived even though we were 30 min late.
Obviously Trex is not Chef Mickeys, but maybe if you're running late or know you're delayed and call the dining # to let them know, they will be willing to work with you? Or maybe not charge you if you couldn't make it because of matters outside of your control and it wasn't just a straight no show?
