this is our fourth(and final) child and PDW is tired of being big and hot. of course this also causes me grief also...she is getting off and on contractions the past couple of days but then go away. a friend suggested sex and saurkraut but it didn't work and now i can't get the smell out of the bed sheets.(just joking)...beside excercise what else will help.....help me please!

did you try pressing the vein above the ankle on the foot that runs to the leg???

Get her a misty fan, get yourself one too. Make things as calm and organized as you can.

But Mother Nature has a mind of her own. That baby will come when it's ready.

Rasberry tea, a nice bumpy road trip, pitocin! Personally my favorite preg. was my first who came 2 weeks early. Managed to avoid that misery with him!

eta: before anyone has ahissy fit, I was just kidding about the pitocin!

Here you go bro. . .

Take enough of this and you'll be calm until the kids a teenager. .

;)

:hyper:

BTW...my heart just breaks that she is driving you crazy...

Try giving her a foot rub....a friend of mine was showing reflexology to some ladies one night and did the example on a pregnant woman in the group. She wasn't due for another week and the instructor told us she needed to be careful because this could induce labor and guess what! We all got a call the next day that she had went into labor!!!!!

Good luck!

PS:.............Wishing you and your DW lots of luck and a happy healthy baby!:sunny:

I am not laughing at you..but my DH could have written this. I am due in ten weeks, but he is hearing you.

Spicy food, sex, bumpy roads, going on long walks..and nipple stimualtion are all suppose to help.

But I agree with Serena. The baby will come when it is ready. So, in the mean time...try doing things that will calm you both down. If she will, try going to a pool for a little while. The relief of the weight and the coolness of the water should feel really good. Foot Massage is a good idea. What about getting her a pedicure and manicure while you take the other three kids out? Just try to listen and cater to her.

I am really excited for you both. It will all be over soon and you will have a gorgeous baby:sunny:

This is my 3rd and DH is talking about adopting the rest:crazy:

I remember seeing a news item several years ago about a restaurant in California (probably LA) that was very popular with pregnant women because it seemed that they would tend to go into labor shortly after eating the house special salad.

The restaurant owner theorized that it was because of the balsamic vinegar in the dressing.

I just googled it and found it on a website (http://www.geocities.com/virtualbirth/induction.html) as "Labor Salad"

My DH could have written this about 10 weeks ago too. But #4 is here and was worth every bit of the annoying and exasperating wait she put us through. Don't tell her "this too shall pass" unless you want to get hit ;) But it really will pass. My DH just piped up to tell you "just let her have it her way for the next two weeks and all will be well." Funny, I don't remember him doing that. :p
Congratulations and good luck!

Go shopping at Wal-Mart! Three best friends all went into labor within 24 hours after a Wal-Mart trip. When I was pregnant, I remembered this, and at 38 weeks, had my DH take me for ice cream, then for a little excursion to our local "Wally World". By 10 o'clock that evening, we were on our way to the hospital! :hyper:

The sex worked for me, that and high impact step aerobics. I remember how horrified the instructor was, but it was with the blessing of my ob-gyn. To clarify, she was horrified about the high impact stepping!

I was just thinking I hope you are at work and getting some relief right now;)

I went into labor first time on a full moon, we just had a full moon Sat. night, so I guess you'll have to wait 28 more days.

Preg. #2, we were in the process of building our house & the driveway was really, really bumpy & we had an Explorer (which made bumps 10X's bumpier). We went on a Sunday afternoon to look at the progress, DS went up the bumpy driveway about 35 mph, I remember giving him the look - you know "the  look" he said "what??:confused3" I told him, "I hope you don't have to work tomorrow, I think you just sent me into labor!!" DD was born 11:59 that night.::yes::

Since the full moon has passed, take her out on a good ole "bumpy" drive. Just be prepared for "the look":p

Let's see- how about a foot massage- make that a full body massage- lots of icy cold drinks- let her put her feet up as much as possible while you fix dinner and clean up after. Pamper her in anyway that she would enjoy- won't make the baby come before it's ready but she'll love you for it.

Those last couple of weeks are miserable.
