My 22 year old DS and his GF have finally decided that they DO want to use some of our points and visit WDW in early August after going to Las Vegas for 5 nights.

I only have enough spare points for 9 nights at OKW, SS or BWV(standard view only) or 8 nights at any of the others. They'd really like 9 nights obviously, which do you think would be the best to book? I'm sort of guessing BWV for the nightlife but don't the standard views go very quickly and am I likely to get something when I ring MS on Monday?

Please tell me there will be something left for them...the GF hasn't been before and is dying to go.

BWV is my favourite I wonder why? ;) But even if you end up with OKW or SSR they will have great access to DTD :teeth:

Gill they will be happy with any DVC Resort you can get them.

Gill - I think BWV might be out unfortunately. I booked mine for August (my stay starts Aug 14th now) at the seven month window and member Services indicated there weren't many left after I'd booked. Still, people may have cancelled (I've just cancelled Sat 13th August myself).

The standard views had long gone though Gill, I had to book a preferred view at 7 months :(

You could try the waitlist? From the DVC boards on here though, the impression I've been given is that the standard views are pretty difficult to get.

What about SSR for the proximity to DTD and PI? Would they enjoy that? I would think you are more likely to get something at SSR or OKW at this point.

Give MS a call on Monday, I will keep my fingers crossed you can get what they want.

:wizard:Some pixie dust never goes amiss on these occasions. Let us know how you get on!

Well, I got 9 nights from August 9th at OKW and am on the waitlist for BCV for 8 nights (with a night at ASMu). BCV would be great but at least they have something. :cheer2:

Gill

They will love any DVC resort :) I will keep my fingers crossed for BCV :)

Great news Gill!

Hopefully the waitlist will come through (I'll keep my fingers crossed it does anyway!)

I think SSR would be great as well for the night life... Plesure island
22 and ??
Plesure island would be at the top of my list and bus service to PI from BW is bad to say the least
I know Bw has night life but it is a far cry form PI when you are that age :bounce:
Good Luck :cool1:

If it's just the two of them travelling I would suggest that OKW is probably the best place for them. It will guarantee them two proper beds ( i.e. one each) as opposed to one of them having to use a pull out sofabed. The sofabeds are fine for kids, or for a night or two, but in my experience for a full grown person over a prolonged stay it may prove a little uncomfortable for your DS ( as I'm sure he'll end up on the sofabed. The other thing is that, IMHO the hassle of moving to another hotel for one night isn't going to be worth it for them. IMHO OKW proximity to DTD gives it an edge over BWV in the range of evening adult entertainment. The BW area has a couple of nice restaurants and bars, but it is a very long way behind DTD in terms of it's range of entertainment offerings.

Gill, I might have misread the situation with your DS & GF (I'm assuming this is girlfriend) but I'd rather assumed they would be sharing a double bed given his / her age ;)

Actually I think I missread the thing  , for some reason I was thinking Grand father LOL . In which case ignore the bed aspect, but I still think OKW will make an excellent choice for them for the other reasons.

I think they would be horrified at the idea of sleeping in different beds given that they're both 22 and live together!!!! :rotfl:

I must admit we always have a bed each for lounging on, even if we share it at night (and other times!!!) I like my own space for watching TV and reading.

They seem very happy and so they should...I calculated it would cost over $2500 if they were paying for it.

Thanks for all the comments.
