HELP: Which Guide do I buy.......

The world's worst guide we've found is the DK guide...it actually recommends spending part of your MK morning in the arcade. Can you imagine?

That is one of the funniest things I've ever heard!

Just to remind everyone, allearsnet.com has full menus for dining options!! :)

Hello Again, I am looking at buying one possibly two guide books to Walt Disney World. Our first family trip will be in June and I want a book or books to help me with my planning. Cause the planning is half the fun, right? :cheer2: I went to our public library today and they did not have the books I was looking for. Here are the ones I'm looking at possibly getting, please let me know which you prefer the most and why. Right now I'm geared toward the Passporter because of the organizer, folders, etc. I am an organization freak.

Anyway, the 3 books I've looked at are:
  • PassPorter 2006
  • Birnbaum's Walt Disney World Guide Book 2006
  • Unofficial guide to Walt Disney World

I look forward to hearing your comments. Thanks in advance for your help. :wave2:

I purchased the Passporter and the Unofficial Guide. They're both unbelievably terrific!!! I wish I would have had them on past trips. If you get the Passporter, try and find the one with the binders so that you can remove the folders in the back. I didn't know about that one until after getting the spiral bound book.

Unofficial Guide & Passporter would be my choices.

I also like a the Guide to Hidden Mickeys. It doesn't give you great advice about touring, but does give you some fun stuff to do while walking around.

I'm not so much a Disney addict as I am a Disney tour book addict. Whenever I bring a new one home I can practically hear my DH eyes roll (I've stopped looking). Anyway here are my unofficial YMMV ratings:

Passporter---First year I've bought one but looks good for organization and if you fill everything out, you can use it as a memory book. (I am totally lazy when it comes to writing stuff down but this book is an as you go kind of thing). Thinking B+

UG---great lots of funny stories, good information overall, not sugar coated I would say A- :cool1:

Birnbaums--I only buy the one for adults so its pretty short but I like the pictures. Rating C.

Fodor's---good for stuff outside of the parks. I found a couple of good restaurants in there and tried them. B to B+

Anyway, it sounds like you've made up your mind but I thought I'd post anyway. I hope you have a magical time.
