We will be arriving at 2:30pm on June 21 and leaving on July 5 and I am having a really hard time deciding which days to do in the parks. The only day for sure we want to go to DL is on July 4th because our 13year old turns 14 on this day. We have the 6 day park hoppers and I was hoping to add a day on, but if that's not possible then I was thinking of going to the parks on wed, thur and fri. then taking the weekend off to tour Hollywood and maybe the Pacific Coast Hwy. Then go to the parks on mon., tue and wed. Would this work or should we just hang out in DTD on wed. then start out on thursday? If we did this I believe thurs. is an early entry day so would this be the best day to use this or should we save it and use it on one weekend day and which weekend day should we do Hollywood and which day should we do the parks? We are staying off site if this makes a difference. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I would say your best bet at DLR will be those days on June 29 and thereafter.

If you want to go before then, then June 22-23 will be good options. Stay away from June 24 altogether. June 25-28 will be challenging.a

I just realized I meant that I would be arriving on June 27 not June 21. HydroGuy thanks for your reply. I have read alot of your stuff on here. Which days would you recommend for going up to Hollywood? We will have a rental car and I thought the weekend would have less traffic.

Depends what you want to do. All else being equal I would choose a Sunday.

We are wanting to do the Tar Pits, Natural History Museum and then the Disney Soda Fountain. I also want to go to Griffith Park but I might have to do that a different day.

Sundays would be a good day to avoid traffic and is often the most crowded day of the week at because less APs are blocked.

Traffic on Sunday evening can be one of two things: absolutely nothing or weirdly busy. I'm not sure what you want to do at Griffith Park, but if it's see the observatory, it's open until 10pm so you could do that after the Tar Pits or the Natural History Museum. This would put you at the observatory after dark and you could look through the public telescopes.

We wanted to do the Observatory and I read somewhere that you could get a really good picture of the Hollywood sign from there. So in your opinion if we start early do you think we could get all of that done in the one day? My husband is the wild card in this. He is an 8th grade science teacher with a degree in archaeology so he might take a while. Thanks again.
