We will be going to Florida for a little over three weeks in February. One of those weeks is a disney cruise and it's right in the middle of our stay. We are interested in staying either on the gulf coast or at cocoa beach for at least a few days and are interested in condo type accommodations (preferably 2 bedroom but could make do with one bedroom if it's fairly large) right on the beach! I've not had much luck on the internet so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also if you can recommend other beaches instead of what I mentioned, we are open to suggestions...
Thanks.

Hi, check this site and see what you think www.vrivacations.com

A little background, this past April DD and I took our first beach vacation to the Panhandle. Stayed in Pensacola B and Destin area. In Destin, we stayed at the Bay Club in the Sandestin Resort. bay Club is owned by VRI Int.

VRI INt. has many resorts all over the country, including many in Florida. (Cypress Pointe in Orlando)

We stayed in a l br unit for 4 nites at this Club. It was lovely and clean. Comfrtable, but not a 5* place.More like 3.5*. I would hope the other resorts on the website as just as nice.

I also need a 2 br unit either in Cocoa Beach or the Gulf Coast in January. I am finding most condo type places only want to rent weekly.

VRI has some resorts along the Gulf Coast west of Orlando and in Cocoa Beach east of Orlando. Some of these places look to be nitely rentals.

The website is very clear as far as rates and floor plans See what you think.

Consider Disney's Vero Beach. It's one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts, but you can also rent rooms (studio, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units) for cash. You could also rent points/reservations from a DVC Member. Sometimes there are DC discounts or other special offers available as well.

We just loved our two stays (for cash) at this resort. It has a beautiful pool with a slide (view from the top of the slide is awesome), min-golf, a children's playground, lots of activities and of course, the beach! Here's a link to more information:

If you have specific questions that aren't answered by the link above, post your question over on the DVC Forum. Posters there love to talk about the DVC resorts.

Have a great trip no matter where you stay!

Herc - thanks for the website. Some of the places in Orlando look really nice... It seems like the beach accommodations are not at the same standard as those in Orlando. It does give me a starting point though and I appreciate it...

Carol - Vero Beach looks incredible but at $575 a night it's out of our price range. I will check out the DVC forum to see if anyone would be interested in renting it to me via their points.

Check out the Don Cesar in St Pete. It is very upscale and offers discounts at times. They have a Don Cesar Suites a little bit further down the beach, that offers more space.

www.doncesar.com Then click on the link to the suites. I know AAA has run specials too. Very pretty beach here too! :D
