I'm planning a 3 night get-away for June............where should I stay? We'll only be doing one park and want a nice pool/recreations for the whole family.......no car rental. We'll be going again in late July so, don't want it to be too expensive.

Please help!

All information/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

In great need of a get-away!:D

My suggestion would be the Wilderness Lodge - if you can get the rate that is an AP rate or with one of the Codes that is out .....they have bike rental, boating, boat ride to the Magic Kindgom, a very nice pool area, etc. also - look into renting points for three nights and staying at Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas. For a three night stay if you can afford it, generally I think Beach Club/Yacht Club or Boardwalk is the best option.... with no car, you would be within walking distance of 2 parks and lots of restaurants and recreation. Also try to get the Entertainment Club rate at the Swan or Dolphin, or try Orbitz.com - often they have good rates for those hotels. Good luck.

Thanks JLS for your suggestions, I would love to stay at the Beach Club but, the rate is a little too much for me at this time. Hopefully, next year I can try it out.

Between Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge which would be recommended and why? DS is 8.

Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend WL, but that's because I'm not a big AKL fan. I really liked the WL when we stayed there (1997), and I'd love to stay there again someday. Also, if you are going on Sun.-Thurs. nights, you can rent points from a DVC member and stay at VWL, BWV, BCV, or OKW pretty reasonably. It may even be cheaper than booking the WL with a code rate :) Definitely something to look into!

Your original post said "we will only be going to one park" but you did not say WHICH park. I assume with an 8-year old, that park may be the MK...... I think the WL would be a great choice for your family. A great boat ride to the MK. There is a lot of recreation around there - bikes, surrey bikes, horseback riding, hay rides, boating, you can boat to Ft. Wilderness and eat there, go to Hoop Dee Doo review, etc. There is a fun pool there and hot tub as well, and you are only a short boat ride from the Contemporary, if you wanted to do Chef Mickeys or something there. Go for WL!

Thanks again JLS and Chrissyk :D . Hubby prefers WL and I want to try out AKL  . Maybe we should let our 8 year old decide. Yes, JLS our park of choice is MK. Between the two resorts which pool would a 8 year old enjoy most?

I'd greatly appreciate anymore information :D :D !

Thanks again:Pinkbounc

The WL pool has a slide that is fun for younger kids.... also there is the Geyser there, which kids especially like. I think the fact that you can go right down from the pool and hop on the the boat to the MK is a real plus!.... and you can see the Electrical Water Pageant from the WL as well.

Good luck with your decision.
