We will be using points for the first time this summer and can't figure out where to stay. We usually stay at The All-Star so we are so excited to be able to stay deluxe. So far we have a one bedroom at SSR for 5 nights but are thinking of switching to Boardwalk(like being close to parks). We are going to borrow points in order to stay another 5 nights somewhere else. Is it silly to use our points to stay at The Contemporary(want to use monorail)? I have read lots of posts and books on the hotels so I guess what I am asking is:What is the best use of points vs paying with an AP rate? Like I said....I AM CONFUSED!!!! Thanks for the help!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Staying anywhere but a DVC is not a good use of points (strictly in the economic sense). A Contemporary Resort standard garden room in July is 26 points for a Sun-Thur night. For 30 points you could have a 2BR or for 11 points a studio at OKW. Of course if you really want to stay on the monorail, then use your points and have fun.

If you are interested in staying in more than one place why don't you stay at SSR for 5 nights and one of the other DVC resorts for another 5 nights like the VWL to be close to the MK.

If you are going to be there for 10 days, do a whirlwind tour of the DVC resorts!

Stay 3 nights at each and either a fourth at one or the fourth at a different DVC resort. For instance, 3 nights at SSR makes you close to DTD, 3 nights at BWV or BCV puts you ready for the days at Epcot and MGM (maybe add the 4th day here), and 3 days at VWL are close to the MK and ride a bus to AKL (to get the full Seregeti and woodsy feel).

Just a thought! Above all, have fun!!
