HELP! Where to find Vera Bradley recently retired tote

My daughter wants the "Vera" tote in Bali Gold to use as a book bag. VeraBradley.com had it last week on sale and as usual I waited until pay day and now it's gone. This is a Christmas present so I have a little time but I don't want to wait *again*. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one? There is 1 on ebay but I don't want to get into a bidding war and pay more than I should. Any help would be appreciated.

I have bought several new VB bags on Ebay for much cheaper than what I would pay buying from Vera Bradley online. On an auction, decide how much you will pay (tops), put the item on a "watch" and then if possible, bid only at the very last minute before the auction is scheduled to end. That way, you won't be caught in a bidding war and end up increasing the price unnessarily.

Due to VB's crazy shipping prices, you'll almost always pay more on their website than on Ebay. I say try Ebay first.
OR-- you can call the outlet stores. The last time I was at the MA one, they had TONS of Bali Gold. You can call each of them, and if they have the tote there, you can order it with your CC over the phone and they'll ship it to you for $8 (the shipping is still crazy high, IMHO, but at least you'll get the bag!).

I would keep an eye on the website also. Alot of times the items come in and out of stock. The outlets are a good option too.

you can also check out ebags.com and if you are on FB, there is a Vera Bradley Sales group on there. Post what you want, be specific, no smoking, no pets, cats OK, whatever, and the condition you are wanting it in. Ask for pictures as well.

I find a lot at good prices at the local Hallmark store. Also at our mall they just opend a VB store but I still buy mine at Crabtree and Evelyn..usually at 40% off.

Call the Vera Bradley outlet's in both Wrenthem and Chicago, as both have a wish list for retired items and if and when it arrives in their store they will call you and ship it out to you. I wanted the black and white messanger bag and placed an order at VB.com which got canceled and luckily two-three months later one appeared in Chicago and they shipped it out to me.
