OK! I have eaten at ALMOST every location on property. But I am really having a tough time deciding where to eat on our next trip. I need some help.
You see, this summer we are staying at the campground for 11 nights. We would like to go out to eat dinner about 6 times during our stay. Where should we go?? Ok now here is the thing...... this summer we are bringing a 14 year old boy with us (in addition to our 7, 8 and 9 year old) . This boy has NEVER been to the USA before. He speaks NO english and is going to be in SHOCK! He lives in a pretty poor country and this is going to be a real treat for him. So, what restaurants do you think he will enjoy? He is open to trying new foods and is not a picky eater. We just want to show him an amazing time! What do you think?

:) Just my opinion, but since he is a 14 yr. old boy (and any 14 yr. old boy I have ever known is always hungry;) ) you might want to consider Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. It is a buffet and offers a variety of foods. Have a great vacation!

Yeah! I love Cape May and you are right about "a lot of food!" You cant beat the ALL YOU CAN EAT CLAMS! :thumbsup2

Sci-Fi - We haven't eaten here yet, & I won't usually recommend a place we haven't tried. I'm making an exception this time. :rolleyes1 I think this would probably be a fun experience for him. I booked it for Oct., because our DS(16) is taking a friend & everyone recommended it for a fun place to dine. My DS is a foodie, as we are, so we usually skip the more "fun" places. ;) I hope it's a hit.

Chef Mickey's - To me, CM personifies all that is Disney.

What country is he from. If there's a place that represents his country, he would probably feel proud to share his home cuisine with your family.

Good luck with your planning. It's great that you're doing this for your guest. :goodvibes

Sounds like a fun trip.

Since you are going to out about 6 times, you can try a variety of restaurants. Maybe one nice sit-down, a noisy character meal, a cuisine he's never tried in Epcot . . .

I agree with the prior posters -- Sci Fi diner would be fun, and buffets are always great for ravenous teenage boys. Buffets are also a good way to try a taste of lots of different foods.

I never thought of Sci Fi! I have eaten there and you are right....it is very fun. How cool will that be!!!??? Eating and watching movie clips while sitting in cars. He will be amazed!

He is from the country Turkey. He actually lives in Istanbul. His mom works two jobs and he goes to school during the day and helps his mother take care of their apartment building at night. They live there for free in exchange for cleaning the steps, buying the groceries for the tenants, taking out the trash etc... He is a hard working boy. In addition to that, he and his mother care for my aging mother (who lives across the street.) So I wanted to do something special for him. He is so so so so excited and has NO idea what to expect.:)
He is going to LOVE SCI FI!

Thanks for reminding me.....I am going to call and make my reservation. Great suggestion!:thumbsup2

How about Teppan Edo & RFC? Watching the chefs at Teppan Edo is very entertaining & RFC is heavily themed.

Maybe the food in Morocco's restaurant in Epcot will feel familiar to him? That might be kind of comforting. Can you tell him the menu over the phone and see if it's familiar?

I never thought of Rainforest. Thats a good one too & Tepan Edo!!! Good ones! I also think Morocco will be good. It will make him feel like he is close to home. Thanks everyone!!!!

Since he speaks no English, you might want to look at buffets where he wouldn't have to interact with the servers. Not sure how comfortable you or he feels or if you will have to translate.

Sci Fi would be good as long as the language barrier is acceptable. I wouldn't take him to anything really over the top like 50s Prime Time or Whispering Canyon. You might even think about one "adult" meal like the Brown Derby or something like that.

And he will be in shock. We take all this food for granted.

Oh - the Biergarten. Buffet, band, fun. And he can see how stupid Americans are when they play the chicken dance!

You are right! WE take all of this for granted! It is going to me amazing for him. He will be like a kid at Christmas! Thanks for the suggestions.
