Help - Whats Happened To Clearwater???

We have booked our holiday for 2006 with Virgin & our 3rd week is at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort (we booked in March from the preview brochure & had no problem)- we are getting married there & mum & dad want to come. They have been trying to book but keep being told Hilton is off sale at the moment so they decided to book another Clearwater hotel near by & thats not available either!!! Went on Virgin's web site & all Clearwater hotels are not coming up.
Please does anyone know why??????
i'm worried that my parents arent going to get to my wedding if they dont hurry & book something, but how can they when they cant get any hotels for Clearwater!!! They want to travel with Virgin the same as us so that we can be on the same flights together.

How far away is your wedding date? Often the big chains don't load their prices into the system until 8-12 months before. For instance, I'm trying to book my favourite Las Vegas hotel for the end of February but their system is not letting me yet. The tour operators will have their bookings already blocked I would guess. You could always give them a call - Hilton in the UK or the hotel direct in Clearwater. It's understandable that you want your wedding arrangements sorted well in advance

I spoke to Virgin when i tryed to price up my parents holiday & all he could tell me was it was off sale at the moment & it would be back but he couldnt say when. that was about 3 - 4 weeks ago. What i cant understand is that i managed to book it in the preview brochure!!!
Its not till Oct/Nov 2006, i really want to get this sorted as i'm worried the holls or flights will go, as we fly out just before the school holiday week (married on the 3rd week, which is Nov). I suppose i'll just have to keep bugging them or hope that someone out there knows something, going to go & look some wedding dresses

Just an idea can you book flydrive for your parents and book the hotel seperately. You can still be on the same flight and when booking seats book them together so you can be on the same seat isle this can normally be done about 180 days before travel, at least you can make sure its all booked. Sometimes it can work out cheaper, as we always book ours this way and book the car hire via airlinenetwork. Not sure if this would help.

It could just be that they had a certain (probably small) allocation of rooms to sell while their 'preview' brochure was out, and now the next batch of rooms won't be available until the main brochure comes out in the next couple of months.

Good luck with all your wedding plans though. We're getting married in 3 weeks time, and then off to Disneyland in LA for part of the honeymoon!

Thanks for the help everyone, managed to find Best Western Seawake available in cleawater, so it looks like mum & dad are going to book that & if Hilton becomes available later they will change then.
Does anyone know how far away from the Hilton this hotel is??????
I suppose its better them being down the road than stuck in England!!!
