Thanks to EVERYONE who helped me with my cause!!! We have finally made firm plans. We've decided to stay 3 nights at the All Star Resort followed by 3 nights at AKL at the $139 rate!! We bid on priceline for our last night for an airport hotel and got the Hyatt Regency Airport hotel. Anyone know anything about this hotel? All I know is that it's right at the airport so transportation won't be a problem! Yeah!

Thanks again for all your help. Anyone have any tips to offer on any of these hotels, I'd greatly appreciate! I can't thank you all enough!!! :)

How about staying at one of the AS the first 3 nights, then move to WL for 3 nights and spend the final night at an economy airport hotel? You can see if WL would give you a late checkout your last day and they will hold your luggage for you.

I'm in the same situation as you CJK. I'm leaving in just over a month and I'm still undecided over where I should stay. Even though the exchange rate is coming down, I'm still concerned about spending extra money. I want to stay at a Deluxe resort but then I think how little time I spend in the hotel room... of course if it was a nice hotel, then it might be different  ... let me know what you decide... Maybe it will help me to make up my mind :)

Do you have that 7 AM Air Canada flight? So do we... :p

if it were me i would stay at the AS the whole time and spend my money on other things.i dont think i would do the first 3 night at the WL and then move to the AS,and if you dont want to stay at WL your last night then i would definetly stay put at the AS.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all of the advice. Goodness knows I need it! Interesting idea about staying at a cheap airport hotel for the last night. The only thing is that we won't have a car. We'd have to pay for transportation. I wonder if it would be worthwhile?

Bunnyfoo! We're so insync! We've got that glorious early morning Air Canada flight too. I'll let you know what we end up doing. Good luck to you too!

Thanks again all! Lots to consider!

I like to go for the best.

Let me say that I really liked staying at the ASMu and ASMo! It feels like Disney, the transportation was great and the room was fine (for the price, pay $55 a night).

If you can get a Disney deluxe for less than you are paying for AS go for it! Then you can have-it-all so to speek.

If you deside you are just not comfertable with priceline, then spend your time at the AS. The only downside I can think of is if you want a sit down meal when you get back to your hotel. That is easily avoided, but something that I like to have, we have kids though.

Have a wonderful trip and I hope I've provided you some useful information.

The Wilderness Lodge is a magical place. I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to try it, even for a bit. Figure out your basic itinerary. Work in the Lodge for a night or two when you can stay around and enjoy it!

We have DVC and are going back in June to OKW. I love that place. But WL for $139 semed like a sign from heaven... We are going for one glorious night before we check into OKW. I plan to get up early and walk around in the morning before it's crowded, really "soak it in." It would also be nice for you to be staying here when you plan to visit the MK -- the boat trasnportation is great!

Whatever you decide, enjoy!

Check out www.mousesavers.com for a code and reserve a moderate! I just reserved Riverside for 5 nites in May for 105/nite.
There you go! Problem solved!

The Deluxe on Priceline won't be in WDW right now I'm afraid. It will be an off-property hotel most likely, so I wouldn't go for this option. What are your trip dates? If you are going in the lowest season for DVC points, you may possibly be able to rent points for $10/night and stay in a standard studio at the BWV. This would come out to $90/night (tax included) for Sun.-Thurs. I think that a studio at OKW may even be one point less per night, so $80 Sun.-Thurs. You could then hop to the WL for the more expensive Fri. and Sat. nights :)

Hi all. Well, the WL doesn't have any availability (of $139) for our dates so that option is now out. :( Not sure why, but dh doesn't want a moderate hotel. We're paying $74 right now for the All Star and dh doesn't want to pay over $100 if it's only for a moderate. I tried telling him we've never even seen most of the moderates (just the value and deluxe hotels) but he is being stubborn!! ha ha Through priceline, we'd most likely get the Wyndham palace or Hilton. I'm trying to decide if we could handle that okay. ChrissyK, our dates are April 30th to May 7th. Do you know what the cost for DVC points would be at that time? Thanks again everybody!!

Does the Swan/Dolphin have availability with the $139 rate then? That would be my choice for 2 adults :).

Thanks for your reply. You guys have been terrific. Unfortunately there's no availability for our dates for the $139 rate at dolphin or swan (plus, I don't think Canadians are eligible?). Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless!

Are those dates written in blood? Could they be changed just a smidge? I'm asking because the weekend (MUCH higher points) is right in the middle of your trip. The total point cost of your trip (including the 48 weekend points...OUCH!) would be 99 points at OKW and 107 points at BWV. If you could change your dates so you could stay Sun.-Thurs. at a DVC resort and then 2 nights at another resort, your total points would be MUCH lower. You'd only spend 55 points for all 5 of those nights (about $550, lower if you can find a cheaper rental rate on the trade board). Don't forget that that WL rate of $139 was BEFORE taxes, so the nights at OKW or BWV are still considerably cheaper at $100 or $110/night :) You could always try the AKL for your 2 weekend nights. We got a cheap rate there the last time we stayed there (also for the 2 expensive-points weekend nights).

If you can't move your dates, are you OK w/resort-hopping? You could do Wed. and Thurs. at OKW, then 2 nights at say the AKL, then Sun., Mon. Tues. at BWV. You'd get to experience 3 neat Disney hotels, AND you'd get to take advantage of the cheap points nights this way :) Good luck!

Don't have an answer for your other quandry. You should definitely consider saving money by spending your last night in an airport hotel. We didn't have a car and it worked for us. The trick is Priceline. For about $28 you can get a three-star near the airport, and all three stars have complimentary airport van service. For $28 we got the Marriott, which was a much nicer hotel than we'd left for $119 at POFQ (of course, none of that sweet Disney theming.) We used Tiffany round trip-- just on the return trip they dropped us at the Marriott, not the airport. Airport van was gratis. We saved a lot and had a full touring day before we left (we left for the Marriott about 8pm.)
