I need help from the awesome DIS audience. I'm an accountant and have zero creativity. I am buying t-shirts for my sister and four nieces and nephews that I am taking to Disney and on a Disney cruise in January 2005. They'll have some pircture of the characters and then a catchy personalized phrase. This is where you fit in - any ideas what to say? All I can think of is "The ______ family does Disney!" and then put the date. I know you guys can do better. Help please.

How about,..... "We Be Cruisinn "....." Cool & Crazyy Cruiserss " ..."Bon Voyage Mateys " Ahoy... " "Smooth Sailing for the __ Family "......" , or .. Cruisee Away with the _ Family........ "Makin Dreams Happen On the Magic" ...."I Love It When We're Cruisin Together"just a few ideas,,, Hope this helped..... :boat: :wizard::D

Staceymerrill, very, very creative!

My only suggestion would be to add the dates and resort of the WDW portion, the cruise dates, the name of the ship and itinerary, and the names of all the family members

You could do that centered on the back in a list, with maybe a couple of small characters, one at the top and one at the bottom. If you put your WDW info first, pick a clipart that would depict one of the characters at the park; for the DCL part, I am sure you can find pictures of Mickey as the captain online.

If you download the Disney font (there has been lots of talk about that lately), all of your script would be cute. There was also a post today about a font that looks like the cruiseline font -
You could have a lot of fun playing around with this!!

Post a picture if you can of your work in progress - we would be glad to offer suggestions!!

If you have little ones that you have to keep up with, some neon color would be the easiest to see, like the neon green, but it all depends on how your clipart prints on the shirts (whether you need to have the white in the background).

Oh, I wish my DH would wear one..........!

Making a note here.....................Grumbo obviously got way too much free time at work - designing t shirts!hehe. Maybe a future job prospect eh? Could make you $m's for Mrs Grumbo to spend!

Going to have t shirts made here with "We are Sailing" and treble cleff emblem. (Rod Stewart Song - for those not familiar with Brit Pop Music)Nat:Pinkbounc

Oops.......... really DO need new glasses: Humble apologies: thought Grumbo had posted! Oh dear, more grovelling to the man himself when we head to Canada next year!

Nat:eek:

Thanks for all of your help Grumpy's Mom and staceymerrill.

Grumpy's Mom - you are assuming I have artistic talent which I don't. I'll probably order them and maybe update with monogramming here. Thanks for all the advice too.

Fredms, it is amazing what one can do with a computer! I thought you might be doing the iron-on transfer stuff, which you can buy I think at any office supply store, create your designs on line, print on the transfer, and iron it on. I have a program called Printshop that makes cards, banners, fliers, etc. with all kinds of graphics, fonts, and pre-designed lay-outs. I have been trying to find a similar one made by Disney. If I find it, i will let you know.

You can make one design for the front, and another for the back - The back would be easy - just type everything out centered, in a Disney font (which you can download on your computer from many sites for free), and play around with the font size and different colors.

You would just have to print out enough transfers of the front and the back for the number of shirts you want to make.

Another thought - when we were at DTD at Christmas the day we disembarked, I was in the Christmas store looking around. In the back of the store is a personalization area, with not only people adding names to ornaments, etc. but also a monograming machine. They had were doing monograming along with the Disney characters -- which no one else has the rights to, on a machine. Depending on your budget, you might want to call down there and see what you can get ordered.

Natdencro -- we (those at my house) are VERY familiar with Rod Stewart, and love his music. I think it may be more of an AGE thing, than a country thing. We have some friends from your neck of the woods, a couple, who we met on the boards and cruised wtih last year. I was very surprised at how much "american" rock music she was familiar with! I guess music is truly universal!

Disney will also help you design personalized tee shirts or sweatshirts. They have a variety of characters to pick from and rooms for several lines. You can do it on-line at disneystore.com or by calling the catalog number. The tee shirts are even on sale right now.

There is also website mentioned on Mousesavers.com that has authorized disney graphics and very simple directions on how to add wording.

I would love to do this for our next cruise but have serious concerns that the "teen princess" will not wear a shirt that matches her family. Maybe I should just add the tee shirt money into my foo-foo drink budget?

Tiggerish, I have two "teen princesses", and I think if I had shirts made for everyone in our group of Dis'ers (17), they would wear theirs too.... That would be different from wearing a shirt matching Mom and Dad's, which I don't think they would ever do, nor would my DH. (I guess I'll be sitting there wearing my shirt all alone........) LOL!

My mom made shirts for our kids and she listed the ports that are on our itinerary. She did that for our last cruise too. We ended up using the shirts for the characters' autographs. They had a great souvenir - better than a book that gets put on a shelf.

I just hope we really go to the ports listed on the shirts - since CC may be too damaged.
