We're heading out to WDW this Thursday!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_116.gif' border=0></a> We have a PS at Rose & Crown for dinner and I don't know what to order. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_5_21.gif' border=0></a> Not really sure what "bangers" are. Are the fish "n" chips any good? Any yummy desserts? <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_11_7.gif' border=0></a> Also, my kids<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/168.gif' border=0></a> are a little on the picky side, do they have the standard "chickies"? (DD-6 calls them that, chicken fingers to everybody else in the world). I am going to view the menu on-line before I go, but sometimes they're a little outdated and don't always show the kids items.

Any suggestions?

how about a guinness?

Bangers and mash are sausages and mashed potatoes. Yes, the fish and chips are good.

Not sure of the kids menu due to the fact that my DS has food allergies so he ate chip (french fries) and water crackers. But DH and I eat there everytime we go. Between the two of us we have had the fish and chips (delicious- DH doesn't eat seafood and he still nibbles on mine when I order it), pot pies, bangers and mash, and the prime rib. We normally split the salad and cheese and crackersas our appetizer.

:D Last Sept. DW and I ate there and it was excellent. I had the Harry Ramsdens Fish & Chips and DW had the Prime Rib. She still talks about how good the flovor was. The Fish was very good also and this is coming from someone raised on the north Shore in Mass. and very picky about his fish!!!!!!!!!! :D

The pies, the pies!! The pie sampler plate is delicious!! I'm sure everything else is good, but I've only had the pies so far. You can be sure I'll be eating them in 26 days :p

I did not enjoy my Fish and Chips that I got at the Rose and Crown. It was a big huge piece of fish. It wasn't the little fish pieces that I was expecting. I personally like the breading as much as the fish, and there was too little breading to fish ration in my opinion.

Thanks to everyone who's advised me. I was planning on fish and chips and I think that's what I'll get. Even the last poster who said there was enough breading helped, DH doesn't like too much breading anyway. I do, but I'm sure it'll be better than the last fish and chips I had at Dick's Last Resort in Boston, YUCK!!!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_119.gif' border=0></a>

Oh - don't forget the Mushroom Medley puff pastry. Its in a burgandy cream sauce with several types of mushrooms. If you are a mushroom fan you'll love it! The fruit and cheese tray is a great app. as well.

I vote for the english pie sampler, and of course a pint of Guinness, which is my favorite.

The Fish and Chips are to die for and the Pot Pie was yummy!! All the kids wanted MORE Pot Pie..lol Mark THAT down on the calendar!

Loved the pie sampler, but was disappointed with the F&C(breading was soggy, not crispy).

I had the steak and prawns last month. It was an excellent choice. The prawns were the best shrimp I had ever eaten.

And I give another vote for the sticky toffee pudding.

A vote for Bangers and Mash and another for the pie sampler (though once ours was rather dry...). They used to have a sherry trifle that was good, too (don't know now).

I just ate there Christmas Eve and I ordered - and loved - the Fish and Chips. My wife ordered and loved the Bangers and Mash. Definitely try a Black Velvet drink - champagne and Guiness together makes for a fruity, rich delicious meal in a glass. And I heartily agree that sticky toffee pudding is a great dessert. As is the Irish creme brulee!
