Help! What dates to go for Dolphin -- May or June?

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to convince my hubby-to-be to vacation at WDW for our honeymoon, and I am trying to get us in under our $3,000 budget before I make the "pitch" as to why we should go there (can't afford Hawaii!).

Since he may be competing at the World Karate Champtionships in Portugal in July 2008, he gets his bachelor's degree in mid-May, and he starts his Masters degree program in mid-July, we've got a really tight schedule for a wedding. If he does go to the world championships, we have to have the wedding on May 17th or 18th (to leave time for him to train). If not, we can have it anytime from when he gets out of classes up to late June.

So, to get to the point: I want to stay at the WDW Dolphin hotel for our honeymoon, and we qualify for the teacher discount.

I'm leaning more towards May 19th through May 24th/25th, however, the Dolphin has rates of $279 per night on Monday through Wednesday of that week, then drops to $179 for Thursday through Sat/Sun.

But when I look at a second possible wedding date of June 7th, the Dolphin rates from June 8th through June 15th are $179 per month.

That's almost a $400 difference in price!!!

We're on a tight budget, but what is the difference in these dates, with the May dates right up against Memorial Day weekend, and the second being the second week in June? How are the crowds? Is it less hot in late May, or the same as the second week in June?

If it's cooler and less crowded, I'd almost rather deal with the price difference.

However, we are on a tight budget, and it could potentially make a big difference.

Any thoughts, tips, etc?

Thanks!!

I know we were there this year at the May time frame you are interested in. It was our lst time that for the time frame and the one thing that was annoying were the love bugs. They were just everywhere. We stayed at the Swan. Just curious why you chose the Dolphin. The Swan is more compact, a few less kids around (something to think of during your honeymoon) and its the lst bus stop. Did you get the rates from the website, calling direct etc.
