At the minute we just have the economy car but we will have DD, Pram, car seat and lots of Baggage. Were not sure what car we will need. We won't be init much for the first 2 weeks just too and from the parks etc. The 3rd week were going to Indian Rocks so its a fair journey and we would like to be comfy.

Anybody any suggestions what car we should upgrade too???:bounce:

Thanks:earseek:

Hi there,
We started off years ago with Economy and have gradually upgraded over the years, we take a pram too, plus plenty of luggage.
We always go for a 7 seater people carrier which is great, still you have to collapse the back seats to create more space for luggage, to a degree they really are built for carrying more people rather than more baggage.
There is just the 3 of us but this would be our choice every time.

The minimum you will need will be an F4, Full Size 4 door, think you would probably be okay with one of these also.
Anything smaller and I think you would struggle.

Hi

I'd opt for a 7 seater every time - the extra space is invaluable, we are a family of 5 and need the extra 'seats' for luggage!

Last year we took a chance and didnt upgrade before we went (as we have always got bargains before). We were caught out though as they wouldnt offer us a 7 seater at a good price. We stuck with our allocated car (Full size 4 dr Dodge Intrepid). In it, we managed to get 3 adults, 2 kids + baby seats, 2 strollers, one giant suitcase, 3 mediums and one small, one large holdall and 4 carry on sports bags. It was a squeeze, but we made it!

In the past we have had the minivans and SUVs, but I have to say the Intrepid was really very nice. Without all the baggage, we all fit very comfortably (and we do a lot of driving about). Plus we were upgraded to a high spec model with all the current gadgets and gizmos as the first car had faulty locks.

I would say, upgrade to the Full size before you go and when you arrive wait for them to offer an upgrade to something bigger. Dont sound too keen and you may get a bargain! If you dont, then nothing is lost as you will all fit comfortably in the Full size. That would be my advice anyway.

Have fun!

I wouldn't upgrade when you get there. In our experience it's inevitably more expensive. Get the car you want now, it'll work out cheaper. Only once in 7 trips have we been upgraded FOC. Although there are four of us, I wouldn't go for anything less than a 4 dr Full size, and would recommend a 7 seater really.

Don't forget one important thing, - your on holiday!!

I always take the opportunity to drive the biggest, flashiest car we can afford. Invariably I end up in an SUV because I love the size and power.

It's a man thing you ladies wouldn't understand!! :teeth:

This is an interesting thread because we are still undecided about which car to get (especially as we haven't been to WDW before and we are staying for three weeks and will probably have loads of luggage!).

Definately!! You are on holiday, we always get a 7 seater, costs approx £100 to hire above the cost of the car we would have had

I would recommend that you go for the 7 seater every time. We are a family of 4 and we always go with a 7 seater for the extra comfort and space for the luggage. Check out www.airlinenetwork.co.uk I have just got a brilliant rate for 22 days in August, and it had even been reduced in price recently.
