Ok - I am due in late February and we are expecting a girl.
We have the first name figured out...but can not get the middle name!
Her first name will be Julia and our last name starts with a R.

My mom wants her middle name to be Ann (that's my mom's middle name) but then Julia's initials would be J.A.R. :teeth: I don't think so! Plus my mom keeps pushing us to name her that - it is soooooo annoying!

Anyway - to the point of this thread...any great suggestions for middle names?

thanks :goodvibes

Do you like your first name? I gave my DD my first name as her middle name: Miranda Christine.

Were there any other names that you *almost* chose besides Julia that would go well with Julia?

When I was pregnant with my son, we thought for three months that "he" was going to be a "she" and the name we had picked out was Julia Faye.

Our second baby is a girl and her name is Erika Faith. With a first name of three syllables, I prefer a one syllable middle name. I like Faith. Here are some others:

Julia Hope
Julia Paige
Julia Faye
Julia Brynn
Julia Anne

Hope this helps.

I really wouldn't worry about what her initials spell- no one will notice. My sister was G.A.S., then she got married. Now they are G.A.G. I just don't think initials are a big enough worry to factor in, especially if you like the name Anne.

Here are a few I like that go with Julia:

Renee
Louise
Rose
Grace
Mae
Marie
Nicole

Jackie

Oh Miranda Christine is so pretty! :) It goes so nicely together!

I do like my first name but I think Julia Stefanie sounds a little funny. :)
My first daughter already has my middle name so we can not use that again. Honestly Julia was the only girl's name dh and I liked! :)
Yes - I know we are being difficult! haha

I kinda like Julia Catherine for some reason
or Julia Christine
Julia Lynn

We did like Grace quite a bit - but a niece of ours already has that as a middle name and her parents would NOT be happy if we used it too!
My dd likes Julia Marie too!

Trying to think of one or two syllable names that don't begin with vowels:
Julia Rae
Julia Leigh
Julia Christine
Julia Shea
Julia Megan
Julia Rachel
Julia Kate
Julia Katherine

Why, THANK YOU!!!!

Also, I happened to like Stinkerbelle's suggestion of Julia Christine--I think it sounds nice. I'm one of those lucky people that always have liked my name. And to think, my mom was going to name me Deanna!!! I wonder how she got from Deanna to Christine??? Oh well.

Anyway, I don't think you are being picky at all. It is very important. When I had decided on Miranda, I just could not come up with a middle name. I had settled on Miranda Rae, but I really couldn't "embrace" it. After my DD was born, I was asking the nurse for help. She is the one who suggested using Christine and then it just seemed right.

My daughters middle name is my maiden name - Watson so her name is Rachel Watson ____
I would consider using family names your maiden, your MILs maiden name, grandmothers maiden,- something like that. It is a nice way to honor someone and give your child an atypical middle name.

My goddaughter is Julia Nicole and her last name starts with an R. Also, I am partial to Nicole :teeth:

Don't forget to practice shouting it so you know how easily it'll come out when she's in trouble. :teeth:

I like many of the ones listed already but :
Julia Claire
Julia Jayne
Julia Marie
Julia Mae
Julia Elaine
Julia Elizabeth
Julia Beth

I like Marie. Goes with almost anything.
I am also one that doesn't think too much of the initial thing. My neice is a CAW she was going to be a COW... LOL. I really didn't even give that a thought. I don't know why CAW is better than COW?
Do you like Ann as a middle name? If you do, don't pay any attention to the initial thing.
When my DD was born my DH wanted her middle name to be my mother's middle name (Kay). Our last name starts with a C and I thought that was too many KKKKKK sounds together so didn't choose it. Have regretted it ever since as I think it would have been a great tribute to my wonderful mother.....

Choose a name you LOVE. Don't pay any attention to what others say or want.

Good luck with your new baby.
