HELP--WDW dining made a mistake on PSB ADR

I called today to get confirmation on my ADR's. Turns out WDW dining made a reservation for 4 people instead of 5 for PSB and they have no availibility left for a table of 5! I had them leave the ADR as is-- I am considering going anyway and taking my chances. I am quite upset, I made these ADR's quite a while ago. Luckily they got the rest of my ADR's right, but PSB was the only character dining we were doing and I will be upset for my little princess if they do not let us in. How likely is it that they will not honor the ADR? I would hate to see the look of disappointment on my daughter's face. :sad2:

I would call each morning, to see if something opens up, either there or at another character meal. If nothing opens up, you still might have a shot, but I could understand not wanting to take the chance of disappointing your child.

I had an experience doing the opposite. I had made a reservation for 3 and my husband stayed behind so there were only 2. I still went to my dining reservation and it was honored. The only thing different was they said I will have to wait to get the next 2 seat table and not my original size table.

We had the same thing happen to us this past week. We had ADR's for 7 (2 families) and when we got a printout of our ADR's, Chef Mickey's Breakfast had 6. Nothing they could do I was told. It was so disappointing for the younger ones, but instead of worrying about not being seated (and they had no openings for our entire vacation) we cancelled our reservation. At least someone else could get our table!!! I was worried that we would wait hours and the kids would be disappointed. I cannot understand how this can happen when all reservations were for 7!!!! :sad2:

Hope something works out for you..... :sunny:

Last summer we were waiting for our 8:05 ADR at the castle for breakfast and a family was there and they were trying to have the dad added to the ADR when they walked up in the morning. It went from 2 to 3. They took him. I think they would take you if you went.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I agree with Bicker - call each day and check to see if anything has opened up. Continue to call even after you arrive at WDW. Good luck to you!

I would have a backup plan- like Mommy and daughter time.(who are the 5?) In other words if they say no go to the 5 then you could get a table for 2. Just have a plan so if the worst happens and they say- no can do for the 5 you are ready to go into plan B mode. Like Dad takes the rest for some fun while you do the breakfast with dd. We did this last year when the boys vetoed the PSB and we had a really great time just the 2 of us. Good luck and you can make it work.

I'd go anyway. We had nine people in our party (at another restaurant). The only way I could get anything for what we wanted was two tables of four each. When I checked in, I said we were now a party of nine. We were seated in about five minutes. And yes, we were all seated together.

I had an experience similar to disnut8. My cousin (who is local) decided to come along at the last minute. It was no problem to seat her. We went from a party of 4 to a party of 5. Definitely give it a try! (Is one of the 5 another adult who could sit out if necessary?)

Also keep trying in advance because I am sure that would ease anxiety to have it done as you need it before you leave. Good luck! :wizard:

The 5 are myself, DH, DD (4), DS (11 months) and my mother. I wonder if it won't be an issue b/c of my 11 month old son-- it's actually only 4 people who will eat. I could leave my son in his stroller and push it right up to the table.

On the trip we made last week my DSIL had not counted me on any of the ADRs she made... 5 for a 3 day trip!!!
But she and DN wanted me to go to 3 of them...
So we called - nothing they could do.
But on past trips we have gone from a party of ? up and down by 1 to 3 people each trip for at least 1 of our ARDs. It was never a problem...
And we didn't have a problem this trip. They went from 2 to 3 people each time. It did take an extra 5 min at the Princess dinner in Norway.
We also made sure to get there at least 15 to 20+ min befor the ARD time. That has usually made a difference also. So has being nice to the CM/Hostess/Host that is doing the seating... We have told them each time we had a different number of people and if they were not able to seat all of us that was fine with us.. and sorry to be so much trouble...
So it has never been a problem.

I have also not made a lot of ARDs the last several years till the day of or the day befor we wanted them. Only once or twice have we not got in someplace at the time we wanted...
And at DL last Aug. I walked into the Blue Buyoe Rest at POC at noon and was seated right away... No ARD ! and it was the week befor school started in SCal....

So try it and see. But have a backup plan if it is important to you!

Perhaps that's where it got confused. Don't they charge in advance for the PSB? They wouldn't charge for the 11 month old. I would just approach the podium assuming your reservation was as you originally made it.

I suspect that the baby is exactly the issue. I'd go anyhow--there is an excellent chance that you'll be seated without difficulty.

We were able to change from 3 to 5 at the last minute with "no availability." They made the change at the hostess stand.

Counting an 11 month is a fire code issue... every person has to be counted. I would just check in for the reservation and act suprised when the CM tells you that the # of guest is one less. I am an adminstration person ... 6 reservation instead of 7 is a typo!!! I am sure they can accomodate. If you don't stay you don't pay!

How often do mistakes get made? Should I call and confirm everything before we go? Can you get a printout when you check-in with all the ADRs on it? What's the safest bet?
