I have to wash my husbands and duaghters Taekwando uniform. Anyone know how without ruining it? Its 55% cotton and 45% polyester. Help I need it washed by 5pm

My son's unifiorm is all cotton, so I wash it with the whites and do not put it in the dryer. I would think since yours are blended you can safely put them in the dryer. They are pretty durable due to the abuse they get while worn. I would wash on a regular setting and dry on a light setting.

Normal wash and dry cycle. Can't tell you how many of these I have washed over the years. Just don't use bleach if there are patches sewn on it. And don't wash the belts!

I think my son's is a blend as well, because it comes out of the dryer looking pretty good, and not a wrinkled mess that 100% cotton tends to do.

I just throw it in with the whites. I use Tide powder, warm water, regular cycle. Then I toss it into the dryer. That's it.

I always used a little bluing to keep it white looking. Anything more would fade out the trim and patches.

Here's a little trick - when it comes time for testing, have the uniform dry cleaned and starched. When the student is performing his or her moves, it makes a nice, crisp snapping sound. It is very impressive!

Thanks, DSK!

He just tested (and got) his orange belt, so I don't think we test again for a few months, but I'll keep that in mind!!

Laundry bluing is the same trick the paper industry uses for whitening - if you add a little blue to white it makes it appear a crisp, bright white. Ever notice how bleach can leave your clothes sort of dingy after a while? Here's one of many products:
