Okay - I could choose room-only. One way is thru AAA discount; other is to wait and see if Disney comes out with one. Do these discounts limit which resorts/rooms/dates I can use? if I use room-only, I buy my own tickets (does Mousesavers newsletter provide a disocunt code? I get my first in a few days.)

Next is the package option. AAA will give a discount on the room-only portion, right?

I understand I am not really getting a deal with a package - just convenience. And the only way to make a dining plan worth it is if we eat A LOT (which we do - and we love great food).

Which is the best option and why? Room-only/package/package with dining?

There will be eight of us - four adults, four kids, ages 3, 7, 10, 13.

Thanks so much.

You're correct, AAA discounts the room portion of a package. As far as packages are concerned, sometimes they can save you a great deal if Disney comes out with a discounted package like the one they having going for the fall which includes the dining plan for free. So basically it depends, a package could possibly save you $$$. With AAA, you cannot combine discounts so you'd have to decide whether to keep the room only discount or have AAA apply the Disney discount, whichever comes out cheaper. Am I making sense? If not, then for sure someone will come around that can maybe explain it a little better.

As far as dining is concerned, if you and your family have good appetites, then the the dining plan might be a good option for you.

Is Disney currently offering a room-only discount, better than AAA discount?

Here is my experience, AAA did upgrade and give my package the added bonuses when Disney gave out upgraded tickets to a park hopper option free, which included the water parks too. AAA gave us a parking pass and if you are driving a vehicle that came in very handy DH loved the right upfront parking! Also, I had a very unfortuante thing happen and had I not had a AAA TA contact the right parties nothing would have happened to correct the matter! Hope any info will be helpful! Happy PLanning!
