After reading some of the problems (bus transportation & cleaning) with POR, I was looking for tips or suggestions for rooms. I am traveling w/4 kids, 19, 9, 5, and 5. From what I understand I will be in a room in AB because of the trundle. :wave2:

We will be there July 24-30, does the amount of visitors decline near the end of July?

Yes, you will be in AB. We just got back 3 weeks ago and didn't have any problems with housekeeping or buses. Every resort will have an off day or 2, but for the most part everything went very smoothly at POR for us. We even got our first towel animal after 12 stays at Disney resorts. I saw several windows with all the stuffed animals lined up looking outside, and got to see the reaction of one little boy coming back top his room and seeing all his "friends" waiting for him. He was soooo excited. :goodvibes

We were at POR over Spring Break and in 7 days we had one "bad" bus day, but it was Saturday before Easter going to AK for their EMH and then leaving there after a torrential rain storm so I'll chalk that up to poor planning on my part and just bad luck. Other than that, we didn't wait more than 5 mins for a bus. Mousekeeping was GREAT and made cute arrangements with towels and my kids' growing number of stuffed animals/Disney toys every day but one.
This was our second trip at POR and we all LOVED it. This time we were in bldg 16, a bit further than the popular bldg 14, but less than 5 mins from the main bldg/bus stop and there was a quiet pool just around the other side of our bldg. Bldgs 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 in the AB section seemed to all be very nice convenient locations. We were 5 to a room and I myself even slept on the trundle, it was plenty comfy and since we just literally slepts and got ready for the parks in the room, it didn't seem crowded.
One bonus of this resort is it's peaceful atmosphere, a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the parks. You can also pool hop on over to POFQ, it's LEGAL to use their pool too and it's a pleasant boat ride or stroll over there. The breakfasts at Boatwrights are fabulous (dinners were just ok IMO) and Bob Jackson the all ages piano man in the River Roost lounge is a blast!

pirate: We were at POR at the end of May and absolutely loved POR. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The boat ride to DTD was wonderful. You almost need to spend a day enjoying the resort. Buses were ok. We rode the buses some and we drove some. Longest wait we had was 20 minutes. "Mousekeeping" was terrific. DD could not wait to come back everyday to see what creations they came up with. And of course an envelope marked mousekeeping with a 5 in it, probably didn't hurt any either.....

Last year we stayed in AB building #14. It was close to the first bus stop & close to the food court. No real problems with the buses either except going back from Epcot in the pouring rain.
Tip: in summer always bring along a rain poncho. We left them behind the night of the downpour & got back to POR soaked to the bone. With Florida weather, you never know.

Thank you for replying, I am feeling much better, I have requested bldg 14, 15 or 16, hopefully that will come through.
