Help w/MK day?

We are going to WDW for the 1st time in a few weeks, DH, DS5,DS2 and myself. We are going to MK on 1st full day there. Plan on getting there at park opening. ADR for CP @ 11:45 for lunch. Is it worth it to go back to POR after lunch for rest and swim and try and make it back to MK for parade and evening in park? Or if boys can handle it should we try to hang til dinner and go back to POR after CS at Cosmic Ray's. I don't know if May 21st weather will drain us along with excitement. Heres my 2cents for whatever its worth......May is hot!!! Also, the afternoon parade, IMHO, is just ok, but your afternoon break is precious! The night time parade and fireworks are not to be missed and most enjoyable when your not wilted from the afternoon sun, w/out a break.....have a great time....take the break, take the break, take the break!!!!!!!
