Planning a trip for early Feb (value season).

We are currently booked at Caribbean Beach Resort for 3 days, Animal Kingdom Lodge for 3 days.

Just started reading up on the Boardwalk and we are contemplating changing our CBR days for Boardwalk Inn.

We've never been to the Boardwalk, but the pictures look great!

Is it worth it? or should we save the $$ and stick with CBR for the first half of our trip?

Thanks!

I can't help with the CBR part-never stayed there. But you will love BW-it is so busy of an atmosphere! A lot of fun and so much to do! And very close to Epcot,MGM. Try it-I'm sure you'll love it!

BWI is our favorite. The EPCOT location is great. I would choose BWI.:thumbsup2

I'm addicted to the EPCOT resorts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I had a hard time making the switch initally but now im hooked! The convenience of some many things to do at night with the ease of access to epcot and mgm can not be beat! take a chance like me you will love it!!!!!

I will put in another vote for the Boardwalk. It is our family's favorite resort too. We tried WL our second trip to Disney World to say we tried something different. I was "homesick" the entire time and we agreed it just doesn't seem like a complete trip to Disney without staying at the Boardwalk. I do not think you will be disappointed!:thumbsup2 The resort itself is nice and the Boardwalk in the evening is fun!

Boardwalk Inn is a beautiful property. If you are a MGM or EPCOT fan - you will be in heaven. You can either take a boat shuttle to these resorts OR walk -- very convenient. It is our resort of choice for our December holiday because of convenience to EPCOT.

I DO miss a "Roaring Forks" type "grab and go" restaurant INSIDE the resort -- vs. walking out onto the boardwalk for a sit-down meal (or pizza at Spoodles window).

The biggest drawback for us is the miserable bus system. Boardwalk shares the busses with Beach Club, Yacht Club and sometimes even Swan and Dolphin. Boardwalk is the last in line for pickup.

We have in the past walked to Beach Club and eventually wandered over to Yacht Club to actually get a seat on the bus during events (MVMCP for example).

It's not a problem for us because we simply rent a car......LOVE the convenience and flexibility.

Be careful at checkin if you want a peaceful room....rooms overlooking the boardwalk can sometimes be a little noisy --- or include the smell of cooking food through an open doorway. There are plenty of courtyard-veiw rooms so this shouldn't be a problem.

You will have a wonderful time at the Boardwalk Inn, I am sure. Other than crowded busses at times, it's very convenient.

Ok, I've never stayed at CBR or BWI, but have stayed at AKL and want to contribute. :)

I just want to say that I didn't really like AKL and will most likely never return unless I have a child some day who is obsessed with animals. Our SV room was disappointing and we really had to go out into the central outdoor viewing area to see any animals or attractive landscape. That said, Boma was interesting, however, overpriced. And Jiko is still near the top of my list of restaurants I need to visit. Buses were not bad, but we were unlucky in that many busses came for other destinations, sometimes more than once, before ours would come. Finally, the distance from everything killed me. I like to be more near the action, which brings me to....

BWI is my favorite resort based on the time we've spent there and what it has to offer. We've just never slept there. :) I love the style and the location is great! We've had great experience at Flying Fish and Spoodles isn't bad. There's lots to do not to mention my favorite park about a 5 min walk away.

I'll just say that I hear CBR is huge and that one of the pools is closed for a while. Not sure about Feb '08. Of course you're saving money here, so not sure how important a factor that is for you.

Good luck and have fun!!!

Having stayed twice at CBR and LOVING it we decided to upgrade last year to BWI and all I can say is YES, worth every penny. The location and atmosphere are incredible!!!!!!!
