DH and I had everything all planned for our DxDP in September.

Now, our flights are coming in sooner and leaving later, so we are going to be hungry on those days as well!

Help us weed out just ONE meal!

Arrival Day (coming into MCO at 11:30am):
Lunch: Pepper Market
Dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse

Epcot/DTD Day:
Lunch: Wolfgang Puck Express
Dinner: Rose and Crown for Illuminations

DHS Day:
Lunch: Sci-Fi Dine-In
Dinner: Flying Fish

MK Day:
Breakfast: Crystal Palace
Lunch: Columbia Harbor House
Dinner: Narcoossee's

AK Day:
Breakfast: Tusker House
Dinner: Jiko

Departure Day (leaving MCO at 6:30pm):
Breakfast: Maya Grill

That is a total of 16 credits per person - and we only have 15!

Should we skip one? Should we pay OOP for one? If so, WHICH one?

Oh please help. Just when I thought I had a firm grip on things...

Without knowing the prices of each restaurant to be able to say pay OOP for X... I would either skip the PM or CHH lunch and replace it with a snack.

Sci-Fi to me is the one to pay OOP for. Or the breakfast at Maya. :goodvibes

Pay for Columbia House OOP. That should be the cheapest.

Forget my earlier post!!! I just reread your post and since you are on the DxDP your best bet IS to pay OOP for a CS. WPE can get really pricey, so CHH would be a good choice! :thumbsup2

I would pay out of pocket for Columbia Harbor House or Sci-Fi. You don't want to pay out of pocket for Pepper Market. Although the food is very good, the prices are on the high end (unless you share a meal--the portions are huge, and then you could pay out of pocket).

Lets see.....you could drop the Yachtsman or Flying Fish because they are two credits per person and substitute another resort meal in its place. Some ideas would be Boma,Ohanas or Kona Cafe
Then you would have a free TS credit left to use somewhere else.

We never use our TS credits are signature restaurants.I just don't think you get your money's worth.Especially with the DDP having no appetizers and no gratuity now. You have to look at the menus and figure up if its worth it for you $$ wise.

OR

Like everyone else has mentioned, pay OOP for either Columbia House or Maya Grill breakfast.Freeing up a CS or TS, whichever you''d like more.

These dining decisions can give you a headache can't they??

The day you do Columbia Harbor house will be after having breakfast at Crystal Palace so you are not going to be that hungry so you can split an $8 meal at CHH. That is what we did

I agree with the majority of the pp. If you plan your Crystal Palace bkft for say 10:30 then you definitely won't be hungry for lunch anyway. Grab a snack around 2-3 and then Narcoossee's around 6 and voila, credit saved! If you're set on a before park opening CP ADR, then pay OOP for CHH. We don't enjoy an early am meal, but I know many here recommend an 8:05 ADR. Looks like you'll be enjoying some fine dining!

the difference is w/ the dxdp you do get an appetizer- still no gratuity- but at least an app.

Also you get two snacks a day on DxDP. Eat a snack in the middle.

I agree. Skip Pepper Market. We were so upset after leaving there. We thought it was just the usual counter service.....but realized soon it was anything but. You have a waitress seat you and take your drink order. You'll have to tip her. Then, you walk over to the "market" and pay 3x what you should for a small amount of food. We shared the "chicken quesadilla" ($15.00) and it was literally a small tortilla you'd buy at the store...folded in half with cheese and I kid you now three tiny bite sized pieces of chicken...and my husband ended up with all of it because my pieces had none. You pay extra for the chicken, mind you. After dropping close to $30 including taxes for an iced tea, coffee, cinnamon roll, and quesadilla....we were fuming and vowed never to return. I know Disney is expensive and we don't mind paying a little extra here and there.....but this place is misleading and ridiculous.

I'd cut this one out.

I'd skip CHH and have a snack-lunch instead if you're hungry. After a buffet breakfast, you're probably not going to want much for lunch anyway, and it would be a shame to be full for dinner at Narcoosees!

The tip is included if you are on the dining plan for the counter service at the CSR. We've stayed seven times and used the dining plan on the last three stays. We've never paid the 10%. And to avoid this if you are not on the dining plan, you take the food to go which we often do anyway to sit at one of the tabls at the lake.

I would say change Flying Fish also.

I ate there NYE once, and it was horrible. Took two hours (with our kids tired and hungry) and my food was cold and bland.

You could do a one credit meal instead, in my opinion.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I will probably skip the CHH lunch, and grab a dole whip (which I've NEVER had!) or something of the sort if we're hungry - I forgot about all those silly snack credits that we'll have to use!! :thumbsup2

Thanks again, much appreciated! :worship:
